Shopping list for 2014 track season

Seat time and technique will get you more than gear if you have a modern bike.

I bought only a new front fender from Squidskins as I left mine somewhere around turn 6 at TMP... Not gonna buy anything else, at least not until I get down to 1:20 or less at that particular track with my current configuration. I've been pouring money in this bike with very little improvement. Recent visit to LA got me thinking about having a day or two with the California Superbike School at Willow Springs in March, so that's where my money will probably go.
Stop riding TMP so much. Go to other tracks and you will be faster when you come back to TMP.

I know that, I'm trying. Next year I'll definitely include more of GBM than I did this year. The reason I go to TMP so often is because it's close to home, hence much more accessible as I don't have much time on my hands. And, I hate camping or waking up at 4am...

Shannonville is what 3-3.5 hours away from Hamilton? Mosport maybe 2 hours?

My goal for this year is to try out all ON tracks, regardless of the traveling distance.
TMP & Grand Bend included.

It's the same reason why I don't race at Grand Bend, the extra time needed to drive there would mean I have to take 1/2 of Thursday off and Friday, then there's the guys that show up Thursday to practice.

2.5 hours from Ajax is not that bad of a drive.

I'm the same. Vacation time is precious to me. The less I have to use the better. Tmp and mosport for sure. I'd like to do calabogie this year but I'd like to find someone to split cost also I'm not bout that camping life.

Hrm. If you can make it to Kingston I might be able to help. I camp out there for a couple days at a time and usually have some extra room if you can bring a cot/mattress.

Wish you were closer. I want some one to split gas, trailer and hotel/motel costs.

As of right now I have no track riding friends. Sucks to be the first

Me and a buddy will be hitting a few tracks this year. you're more than welcome to hit it up with us.

Here is what the list included, and already bought:

Ohlins forks
Attack triple clamps
Frame with ownership
Brembo underslung caliper
Arata full ti exhaust
Undercut transmission

Now all i need is to get it tuned in the spring and hopefully it runs all season unlike last year.

- quick turn throttle (most likely modify the stock one)
- engine crash protection kit from GB Racing
- tires, going to try Dunlop UK slicks
- going to keep my eyes open for an Ohlins rear shock, and if I don't get one I'll service the Elka
- captive wheel spacers

Now that Christmas is over it's time to update this thread!
Got a quick turn throttle thingy and spare sprocket carrier (thanks Paulo!).
Got the GB Racing engine guards (thanks Tony @ BlueStreakRacing)
Got tires, ended up with D211GPA's since I couldn't pass up the price (thanks Pro6)
Had my Elka serviced at Pro6 and will be picking it up this weekend.
Got a new upper shock mount bracket because the old one broke, presumably at the last track day.
Need to ping Tony about the captive wheel spacers. Ordered them a while back but the guy who makes them takes his time. ;)

How is the Rifleman's 1/5 turn throttle? do you see the difference? easy to install for you? it was a pain in the *** for me

I just installed one on my zx10. It took me 15 min to remove the housing, cut the nubs from the inside, loosen the cables and reinstall everything. Substantial difference and I hope it's not too touchy now, a 600 you see wot much more than a real bike.

I haven't installed it yet. I'm trying to focus on some other indoor projects while it's still super cold out. My garage is sitting at about 10 degrees right now with a small heater on, but I'm in no hurry. :)

I love mine! Used it on my '04, put it on my '10 as well!
