Shopping list for 2013 track season

I was thinking of a 1/4 turn throttle, but the stock R6 throttle is short as it is (I never had any need to finger-crawl to get it turned) so I might just leave it for now.

It might already be 1/4 turn, and you'd be looking for 1/5 or 1/6 turn. I modified my SV throttle using Plasti-weld epoxy to build up the cam, then filed it smooth on the sides and top, with a V channel to keep the cable in check. I made it so that when I get to about 70% of rotation it goes quickly up to WOT. This way I don't make it any twitchier than it already is mid-corner but decrease the twist required for WOT :)

I bought one for $88 too...didn't even know it came with the socket set until I put it together. Lol

If you are like me, you didn't read the instructions first and said WTF when you saw the top part inside the bottom part wrapped in cardboard lol

My Buddy Adam (AC) lent me this one, just spend the extra few buks and buy this one, it is worth it

I will eventually give it back and buy this one myself ;)

lol right, how long has it been now??

Got one of those stanly tool boxes from walmart for $88 last year. For the price you just cant go wrong, especially with the free socket set that it comes with. Just dont expect Snop On quality.

Ahhh, yes, yes, something I forgot! I really want to switch it to GP shift and thought it would be as easy as it was on my 08 R6, just swapping the knuckle around, but apparently that doesn't work on my 07 R1 :(

Anyone have a recommendation for a GP shift setup that I can use a Dynojet QS sensor with?

You might need rearsets that can do reverse. That's what my Tuono requires. Not sure about the upcoming RSV4.

I was considering trying the reversed shift, bonus is on my bike it's as easy as just unscrewing a bolt and the rod to turn it around. However, I have a couple of friends, whose bikes I sometimes borrow to ride a little on the street (as I don't have one myself right now), so I was wondering how easy is it to switch over to normal shifter every now and then if you are used to the gp style? It sounds a bit scary to me..

I think the problem is all the way around. Spend a day on your friends bike getting used to the normal shifting (muscle memory) then going to do a track day let's say Mosport and up shifting by mistake on turn 4 instead of downshifting

I wouldn't risk it, if you going to switch make sure every bike you ride shifts the same way, that is just my opinion.

I don't have an issue with it..................... but I have had. You want a slipper clutch, if you're going to switch between the two. :)

Ohhhh nice! $80 vs $400 for rear sets :) Be a little freaky to get my QS sensor set up I bet :(

Make sure you get the right sensor too. push or pull could = facepalm if it isn't right.

so I was wondering how easy is it to switch over to normal shifter every now and then if you are used to the gp style?

Depends on your brain. Some can handle it, some can't. It was easy for me (street weekdays/instructing students weekends, racing once a month) and never confused anything. But you'll eventually establish a correlation of GP shift with the track bike.
