Shopping list for 2013 track season

I bought a steering stem stand today cause i didn't have one. Thinking really hard about sending my forks to John Sharrard.

Very related---I put in my 2 week notice today at the job I had for the last 4 1/2 years, which forced me to commute Hamilton <=> Toronto almost every single day. New job in Hamilton, same money, double the paid vacation. 10 minute commute. What an improvement, now I'll have so much more time for bike and track without hurting family time :)
Congrats on the new job! John is doing my forks :)

Thanks guys. Yeah, although my wife is doing her phd, at the same time staying home and raising the kids, it's a really nice arrangement :)

Will see about NJ. New job---new life, u know. We'll see how it goes and all, also don't know if I'll have everything installed and done on the bike by then, but the opportunity is definitely on the top of my mind at all times!

Just picked up my Velocity combo deal today: new kangaroo suit, new gloves, new back protector, new compression suit.

The gloves are fantastic

*You're

No track is boring. If it was I would take that as a sign that I should sell the bike and retire.
I retired from racing at the end of 92. When tobacco money got pulled, and I had to find a job if I wanted to keep racing. However I discovered that I get enjoyment from helping newbies get faster. Where better than trackdays:)

I do a lot of that. I also pick up a lot of newbs off the pavement and help them get their bike going or get them home. For this reason my trailer has quite a few stains in it. :(

BP you're going to be ballin' this year; most snazzy looking vintage racer.

You should get one anyway, even for tire installs. Just ask John for an explanation on stem stand vs fork stand.

I never had a problem removing my front tire using my fork stand before, I don't understand what you mean. Maybe you mean that it is better to keep bike on stem stand for prolonged times, because it relaxes the forks, or what?

Less pressure on the axle for tire changes, it isn't just about the forks themselves. And it's easy to put on a triple life :p

John has a write up he sends with shocks and stuff, a few things in it I never knew/considered. I'm sure some might just be preference, but it was convincing.

Anyway, topic related.

Race sponsors/supporters came through more than I expected: getting my lightweight rotors next week (front and rear, thanks MikeyMoto), a bunch of maintenance related products from BlueStreakRacing .

I'm mostly looking forward to getting my custom vinyls done from Trackside Cuts! Gonna be a sweet looking ride :)

I'm also waiting for the new Racer 5 suits to come in so I can get all the names/badges on for the first race in May (Trackside Cuts doing all the work on that one!). Fawaz put together a great suit, superbly comfortable even though I was just walking around the shop and sitting on his Racer5 bikes. Can't wait to try it out on the track.

Agreed. If you don't go out to improve some element of your riding, you're just wearing out parts. Oh, wait, that was the purpose of this thread wasn't it... more new parts. As you were, lol.
