You just need to learn some throttle control.
You mean there's a range between idle and WFO?!

I have done Grand bend on a 600 and 1000 and I enjoyed the 1000 way more for some reason.... maybe because it had a quickshifter activated with my fingers and training wheels on the side that came down when you stoppedits not that, its second gear through the whole track other then the two main straights, then blasting down the straight. kinda gets old after years of riding it.
i wasnt saying I couldnt handle the bike for the track just the bike loves tracks like boogie.
if i could afford two bikes id have a 600 for tmp and grand bend.

I dont see what the problem is. If it is boring just go faster.
Yeah, but that's why I kinda like having the R1 at TMP! I love to wheelie out of turns 5, 6 and 12 (as referenced on the TMP map I made), and doing little power slides out of 12 too! One time (before I got my new Elka rear shock) I got on the throttle way too early coming out of 12, did a big slide but kept the throttle cranked to stop from highsiding, and as I came out of the corner and stood it up it gripped and threw it into a little wheelie, perfectly aimed down the straight so I rode it out. Was awesome, but a little scary, and figured it's probably not good for right side tire wear (TMP already murders the right side anyway), so didn't attempt to try it againOf corse ! Not a fan of it with the r1 tho its too much bike for the small track

Eventually after I got a little faster I had to start running the interior in 3rd gear because I was hitting the rev limiter in a few places.
Can't wait to try a bigger track, where I can really stretch her legs! My new sprockets will give me a theoretical top speed of 305kph, so I'll have to see if it can actually get there

I said fun, not fast 1:20 is great, best I could pull off was 1:28 (or 1:26, can't remember, I'll have to check my logs)! Maybe with my new fork internals, proper setup and new rotors and pads I can shave a few seconds off. For sure I can be way more aggressive on the brakes, just had some strange problem under braking that would stop me from pushing very hard on them. And also not sure how hard I can push on my S20'severything you just posted does nothing for lap times
Oh, I know what you mean. I've seen vids, that hill for sure separates the men from the boysYou have an R1, ride the torque out some. And at Calabogie you can definitely max it out, if you can take corner 4 hard enough. Maybe Mosport, too... but the hill separates the strong from the REALLY strong, if you know what I mean.

I've got a really aggressive throttle map loaded in my R1, so smooth throttle on the corner exits was a little tricky, especially for a track noob. I'll flash in a perfectly linear throttle map and see if it helps with my mid corner throttle maintenance as well as smoother roll on coming out.
