Shopping list for 2013 track season

Why are you adjusting ride height?
There's a rumour Suzuki added 5mm shims to their 2011's at press launch and I've seen quite a few with the same bike ('06+) make the same mod. More stable while trail braking and a bit quicker turn-in are the main reasons. The cost is only pennies to try so why not.

Rule number 1 with suspension tuning: Never change more than one thing at once (unless you really really really know what you're doing)

And that's exactly what I'm doing.

My OEM front rotors are still good at about 6mm thickness and don't seem warped.. I want to convert them to full-floaters, and apparently I've got two options:

1) manually remove washers from the inside side of the rivets.

2) purchase special full-floating buttons to replace the stock ones, which is 2 rotors x 8 buttons x $6 = about 100 bucks.

Option 1) is free. Anyone know if 2) is worth it?!

^ What's the benefit of having full floating rotors anyway?

And supposedly the brake fading will be minimized.

EDIT: Here's where they sell them with tech info and even a video, but can be had for less from bluestreak, although not on their site: http://motowheels.com/i-7579497-corse-dynamics-full-floating-rotor-button.html

EDIT 2: And a video comparing the drag after modification: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=jJPCy2AsULo

anyone order anything from motomummy? I was looking at a damper for my bike, and it is $100 cheaper with them than with our sponsors (some sponsors even more $) That includes shipping with USPS
I got my steering damper from them for an absolute steal :) Shipping was fast, paid the normal HST + USPS $5 handling fee (motorcycle parts are duty free). I would highly recommend them.

I was going to post a picture of it here, but for the life of me I can't find one! Perhaps because I installed it at the track, at night, I never took one :)

Anyway, it's this one: https://www.motomummy.com/hyperpro/hyperpro-04-08-r1-oem-location-rsc-active-damper/

Looks nice for the price. The shipping charges to Niagara or somewhere close are pretty big though.

Yeah :( works out to about $1k shipped, a bit more with the spare tire.

See what's available at local trailer builders/dealers. You might find it cheaper on this side rather than the big shipping prices (and you might even save having to build it yourself).
Not a bad option if you have to have something foldable.

If your going to buy that one, ensure hes done the wheel bearings fairly recently along with checking the tires.

Just saying ..

This is probably a very stupid question, but how can I check if the wheel bearings are good on my very very old trailer which I bought a few months ago?

If your even doubting the life of them, replace them.

Nothing worse than dropping a bearing out in the middle of nowhere.
