I was there... actually I think TAFB's images are my pictures. And yes, everyone knows Aliki... 
By the way, Benz buddy was dead drunk and had a beer in his hands when I talked to him. I don't think he should have got away with this, if it was me I'd have called the cops - period. Especially after I saw how much damage there was to everything. No way should bakaboy have paid a dollar for that accident.
He was cursing and yelling, as well as seemed to be just hanging out away from the scene maybe in the hopes that nobody would know him and realize he was drunk. If I had known that the cops WEREN'T going to be called, I would have done it myself... no joke. I only knew he was the guy behind the accident because at one point he stopped being a mouthy jerk and let out a big sob about his beautiful car... then walked over to it weeping. Not even joking.
And yeah, the damage to the car was more extensive than that. I'd guess that the car was written off, but who knows... the engine was pushed back, the control arms on the driver side were all bent and the wheel was off center.
The capper is that the guy is unhappy with paying for part of the damage?? "Your Honour, he needed killing."

Why do people buy Elka stuff?
By the time you spend the money and time fiddling with the stuff, you're well over the cost of an Ohlins unit.

I was originally after an Ohlins unit but the price I got for my Elka was just too good!
Why doesn't it work?
My Elka Stage 4 was $895 installed, tuned and tweaked by John Sharrard of Accelerated Technologies. It was a way better price than I could find on any Ohlins unit?
Only done two track days on it, and a bunch of street riding, but I absolutely love it to bits. Night and day difference over OEM on the track.

Yes, Jodi Christie has done well using this gear, but he's got Mr. Sharrard working on his stuff exclusively trackside.
Your oem shock was blown anything would be better.
Jodi seems to be doing okay on the Elka stuff.

What kind of problems are you referring to?
I did some reading before I made my purchase and it seemed they were having some valving issues in their early (~2004) models but things have been changed since then.
I didn't find much else that was negative and there seems to be a lot of good reviews/feedback! Fwiw, I got the Elka 3 way adjustable shock, let me know, thanks!
btw... I'm not racing, just track days.
