Haha no dude, many pages ago i posted about McClelland which is pretty cheap and is my everyday (not literally) scotch.
If you can find something you like and is more affordable, do it. You can drink more scotch that way lol
Im not a hige fan of JW but the gold is pretty nice. But where do you ever find it for $50?!!! Usually stuff at LCBO goes on sale for a dollar or two less than the usual price and the usual price for Johnnie Gold is $80My "everyday" would be Johnnie Gold. I find it to be the Bimmer 3 series of the Scotch world. Always good when they are sale in duty free (1L/$50)
Lagavulin 16 is my go-to when I'm in the mood for a smoky scotch as is my dad so we'l definitely try that Distiller's Edition out. Thanks for the heads up on that one.
Nothing wrong with cheap blends. The regular JB is perfectly drinkable.
I have a special decanter just for J&B.
Oh yeah that makes sense. but at LCBO its not cheap lolThe Gold for that price is just in duty frees. JW discontinued Gold to bring out the platinum, but there was such a consumer push back they're re branding it again as gold. Keep an eye out when you're traveling as it's probably the best value you'll get for Scotch.
Anyone tried the Crown Royal Northern Harvest? Named "World Whisky of the Year" by the guy that puts out the Whisky Bible
Probably going to pick up a few bottles to test
Nothing made by CR should be awarded. I tried their Maple Whiskey last month as a friend had a bottle and it's an abomination. Not even drinkable.
damn! This is a big deal:
