Scotch anyone?

The entire Macallan range is way overpriced. Not that it's bad, I'm actually a fan of it, but the price points are ridiculous.

And it's not that great since going to the non-age label. If you can find a Macallan 12yr sherry oak don't hesitate, buy it.

How about a 50 y/o Highland Park?

50 y/o HP @ the SAQ...

Check out the price tag...

I like scotch but I would rather have 2 or 3 new motorcycles in the garage than 1 bottle of this in the liquor cabinet. Hey maybe my LottoMax numbers will hit and I won't even have to choose.

You may find the 18 better than the 25.

So... both the 18 and 25 y/o HP's are history. You are correct, the 18 is a nicer tasting scotch. Both excellent, but the 18 gets my nod.

I found that the last 1/3 of both bottles was much better than the top 2/3's. A bit of a shake may have been in order...

Sometimes a bottle just needs to breathe a bit. That's likely the reason you enjoyed the bottom more.

I don't know why but I actually really like sipping on jack Daniels now!! What's wrong with me??? It's woody with just the right amount t of spice.
Burn and after taste!!!! Does anyone else drink this?

Can't do Jack unless mixed. I've tried.

But I have learned to enjoy some Bourbon and Irish Whiskey. I suppose that would be another thread....

Which American and Irish do you like? Speak up :-) I referenced this thread the last time I was at the lcbo for ideas.

Yes... years ago. JD is an excellent whiskey.

Jack Daniels Single Barrel is one of my favorite American whiskies. And I still order Jack & Cokes at the bar. Regular JD has that classic banana taste.

For Irish, Kilbeggan is a nice evening sip.

Jameson is quite good anytime, anywhere.

Jim Beam Black is my current favourite American bourbon.
