Rosey Toes - Ted retiring

Vlad Tiron
This place isn't up for sale.. myself ND the team at Augment Motorworks are taking over once Ted retires.
I'm confused now. Is Ted selling/retiring? I checked the link in this post and it came up as a dead link.

Someone ELI5...

Are all of those bikes he's got there customer bikes? He had this beautiful Yamaha cafe racer that I would live to take for a scoot...
My safety was very efficient.

Hmmm? Retirement income. Sell the business, lease the building?

The wording isn't clear if ted owns the building or a third party landlord. Pricing that business would be really interesting. Judging by the fb comments, a lot of his business was ted special safeties. If the new owner doesn't want to continue that tradition, that is a big revenue hit and therefore affects the value. I'm more interested in how they determined value than the actual number they are going for.

Dirty safeties is not the future. Ted got busted a few times and had his ticket pulled only to get it back later. You may think that's funny but I don't.

I probably should leave this alone, but for the record Ted has done better by me than Rider's Choice, McBride's (RIP) or Cycle World West (RIP). Or the criminal that safetied my 919 (done by seller of course). I cannot refute him selling paper safeties, but he did do good work for me

Price would probably be an order of magnitude higher with the land.
As it should be.

My point is; small shop, clientele used to whimsical safeties and 15 minute tire changes is not the basket i want to put my eggs in. At least with the land I could go a different route if I had to.

And this he said-she said 3rd party Facebook convo regarding 'the plan' when Ted retires is a joke. I have the cash, I was considering some kind of business..i wouldn't touch this.

Google says Augment Motorworks is at 131 wendell ave

Ted has helped me get on the road with my very first bike and looks like my last bike

I agree 100% just based on what I have rad in this post alone, I would not touch something like this.
Expect to see it up for sale again or closed completely in the near future...

I've had bikes fail safety when they're clearly within spec. Then they hold you hostage by offering to fix it for less than it would cost you to pay for a new safety somewhere else. And these are so-called "reputable" shops. So it's one thing to get a dirty safety on your own bike for a guaranteed price when you have the technical knowledge to know it will pass, but I do agree with you on doing it on a bike you're selling when you don't know if it will (or worse, know it won't).
