Road Biking - Anyone ?

They come up here too and 90% of them are why the rest of us get honked at flipped off or driven too close to by farmer bill in his little penis 4x4. I mainly thank the brampton cycling club members who feel entitled to ride our roads 4 wide. That's a lot of why I don't ride road as much here as I used to.

I hear ya loud & clear :(

:"brampton cycling club members"...hmm I will look into that.

You better have lots to spend. They require matching gear to their trendy bikes they ride really slow :lmao:

SLOW - I can do.
Lots of Money - I can't
Matching Gear - is this a fashion show ?

Have you thought of a hybrid bike. You can ride dirt, gravel and pavement. It's like the all season tire of bicycles!

ftfy

^ Only until I put on the winter tires

Are you guys using trainers during the winter ?

Other than wearing out a trainer tire I have no issues and I ride at least 6 hours a week inside just to keep in shape. Good trainers aren't cheap and you get what you pay for. I'd rather do my own thing on a trainer than sit in some spin class

+1. Sacrificial bike that stays on the trainer 365.

Mine won't stay there but I find it a lot easier to watch a dvd or even a cycling related movie or instructional video than to hear some fool yell at me to go faster. I know someone who's an instructor and when it came time for a road ride she couldn't hang for more than 10 minutes

I don't think you get it. Have one bike that's sole purpose is to sit on the trainer permanently. No fussing about unhooking your bike from the trainer and sorting out wheels. When you want to go riding, grab one of the other bikes and go.

Ah I see what you're saying. I could do that but don't. The bike I ride on the trainer is my favorite for outside because of its gearing (55/11) and once the snow is gone I don't ride indoors anymore. I have a spare wheel for the one I ride the trainer anyways so it would be a quick switch.

I just got a trainer for xmas. Riding inside is hard for more than 30 minutes. It's like running on the treadmill - the boredom really sets in. My missus rides for hours on her trainer or runs for hours on our treadmill - don't know how she can stand it.

Where did you guys pick up your trainers and other misc stuff from ?

I'm looking for some clip in shoes and basic stuff like new bearings for the crank set and cages for bottles and little pack.
