No, he didn't have his 30yrs in.
The time he quit for a while cost him, but he invented "fonts" :-)

From Wiki:

According to reports, he kept an old BMW motorcycle in the living room, and let Bill Clinton use it in 1998.

RIP Steve. Thank you for bringing great technology to the masses.

Thumbs up to Cruisnn Girl for saving this thread from being moved...

One of the original personal computer pioneers is gone. As he was the visionary driving force behind their products, I have to wonder where Apple will be going now?

RIP Steve. A technology pioneer.

They have enough products in the pipe to keep them going for the next probably 5 years. Plus the distance of their competitor's products with their value and cash in the bank, they have nothing to worry about, not right now. They might not be another Steve, but there's still tons of smart people on Apple's payroll to keep them going ....

Steve Jobs was the poster boy for greedy, egomaniacal, scheming CEOs, whose true genius lay in marketing unnecessary gizmos to naive, gullible people who somehow thought that Apple was a "nice" company. He carefully cultivated the image of the nerdy hipster and all the nerdy hipsters fell in line. Meanwhile, he collected his billions, pulled boardroom moves that would have made Machiavelli jealous and crushed opposition, even if it took years.
On a human level, it's a shame he died, as it is when most people die. But the way the Apple-itsi are wailing and moaning and rending their clothes, you'd think the Messiah has died.
