A win's a win, but being stuck in Toronto, you wouldn't know much about winning anything.

In the week prior to iPad3 announcement?

Point is, no doubt some of these buyers were eyeing the iPad but ended up with PB. If they felt the IP3 was significant they would have waited, no? But they didn't.

The BB forums are growing exponentially with new owners who are impressed with the benefits of the PB.

It may not be right for you and this is fine, but clearly, its a good enough product for many others.

I certainly don't expect anything less from closed minded Apple fan boys, anyway.

a few things urk me so far...no bbm groups, and bbm is not native on the pb, you have to have a blackberry...as well bbm music is not available for the playbook...the browser is buggy on the refresh when it comes to some of the mobile sites that i access...it's managed to crash a few times on the games...and right now i did the update of the OS to 2.0 but when plugged into the desktop manager, it still thinks it's running os 1.0...severe lack of apps, can't demo much...at least allow apps to be demo'd first before buying...ok, my list is a little longer than expected, right now i'm still on the fence about the playbook...ipad has my vote for now...the more i use the playbook, the more the thing annoys me...

Buyers of $150 playbooks aren't the same people as those who are buying up $500 iPads.

The sales week was due to iPad buyers hesitating on purchasing an iPad2 because the third iteration is being presented tomorrow. They didn't flock to buy cheap crappy playbooks  duh

I *guarantee* you many buyers for the PB also considered the iPad. Anyboidy doing research before buying a tablet, unless they live in a cave, is aware of IP3

But hey, if Apple can find enough suckers to plunk down 3x the price of a PB just so they can get a slightly larger screen and a few more useless apps, all the power to them.....

Unfortunately, Apple has the copyright on the spinning beachball that comes up on my MacBook on more occasions than I would like when it causes me grief. Is it a feature on the IPad as well?

:lmao:

By "slightly" larger screen you mean twice the size right? And by "a few" more apps you mean like 200,000 right?

 such a RIM fanboy

RIM just released another OS update.

It fixes and improves a few things.

You should see the update pop up on your PlayBook, but if not, head to Settings > Software Updates to check on your own.

How useful would it be now that I've gotten rid of my BB9900

If i could unlock the bootloader and run a 100% AOSP Android build, maybe, but most likely nah.

Wait a little longer while they'll be giving them away on the street corner  RIM

Wow I got ripped! I paid $170 for my 16gb version!

also on a serious note...it's lame! I have to reset it at least once a day with a 6 minute reset time. It constantly doubles, triples, quadruples my folders on my exchange account, files them in the wrong order, and requires a reboot and a reloading of my exchange settings.

It takes longer to locate an attachment file in an email, open it, review it and attach it to another fresh email to forward on than it does to DRIVE THE FU*@&*(@&(&@ back to the office or find a wifi cafe and do it on the laptop!!!!

Oh and the native file structure is atrocious!!!! Videos and images are just one massive roll!!! No file structure at all!!!

Apps shmaps, this is a toy not fit for serious work. In retrospect I wouldn't have paid $100 for it.

That being said I am excited about the Windows 8 Surface Pro!!!! Screw dinky apps! I need PROGRAMS!!!!!! Give me CAD, PHOTOSHOP, FULL ADOBE SUITE and any other damn PROGRAM I need to be productive as well as be entertained. Give me a damn PDF program I can view, edit, sign and export with!!!!!!!

Silly rabbit, apps are for kids!

PS, Pioneer just got the jump on RIM's QNX in car vapourware! QNX is toast if this is sorted out on the market first!!!!!!!!
http://www.theglobeandmail.com/glob...one-for-more-tasks-in-the-car/article4534208/

The only thing that can save BB is if the new BB10 does nothing short of allow fully functionality sync with your car without taking it out of your pocket the second you sit down! My RIM pals talk up a good (all be it coy game) about QNX in all the cars these days blah blah blah, potential this, potential that.....but if there isn't fully integration by 1st quarter of 2013, I call this one over.

We are now 3 weeks shy of the 4th quarter and there is ZEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEERO hype about what should be barn storming products in less than 6 months (factoring their pushed release date)! Google has more going on with Glass! FFS leak a logo 5 second commercial with some Zimmerman epic scores or something! A damn BB logo in the night sky over Toronto, hell, even lie to me!

All that we see is a liquidation sale!

PPS, you know that Indian (who wants to be a Millionair host) star from Slum Dog Millionaire? Well he was in town for TIFF, and mid interview he remarked how he responded to something with his BB, and then interviewer stopped mid interview to mock him for using an unfashionable BB!!!!!! He then bashfully apologized for being old school and not being young enough to break away from the physical keyboard!!!!!! He acquiesced to the interview interruption to apologize for using a BB........a Bolywood star......to some half aszed Toronto ET Canada interviewer or something!!!

It's over!

I have been using mine for over a year and its kept up a ton of abuse... i use it EVERYDAY on the go train going to work ... Even twice I've dropped it down the stairs at the go train and its still working ... case has a few chips but hasnt' hampered performance. 1 charge still gets me 3.5 days of use on the train going and coming (50 mins each way each day)... same as the day i got it, same now

no complaints... i'm just a bit peeved that its now half the price it was over a year ago...
