Riding during stay at home order.

"We're not going to pull people over" said several forces.
At $750 a pop, who here believes the above?

I don't doubt that some cop, somewhere, and probably an OPP, will try it. The rest of them don't want the public, and legal-system, backlash that they know they'll get.

On the other hand, if you get pulled over for speeding some distance from home that is implausible with going to get groceries, or even going to the nearest Timmies for a coffee ... don't be surprised if this ticket gets added on.

When they have historically only fined one or two people at parties with 20+ people, I believe the police have no desire to write tickets. They are too busy with their normal jobs to give a flying *(&(& about the additional covid workload.

My freedom isn't being infringed upon because I believe the health care system is being stretched to near breaking, so I make that choice willingly. Call me a sheep if you like, but this isn't about 'freedom' it's about making a collective effort to do without for a bit so we can get through this with the fewest people dying unnecessarily. This isn't 'just the flu', this isn't exaggerated, this is real.
You're right.. it's not about "Freedoms" -- it's all about "FREEDUMBS".

Is it going to be a moving violation, so insurance can fine us some more?

So, random riding solo, not gonna catch you any flack, risks of there being no hospital space to save you if you wreck aside.

Big group rides and Hortons Choice gatherings in the Timmies parking lot, high heat score.

Betting they are mostly 'family' cottages. Owned by parents who bought them when they were cheap by today's standards.
You're probably right. I was looking at cottages in the muskokas and the haliburton area (not to buy, just out of curiosity) and there's nothing under a million bucks. Definitely not something an average person can afford.

If I got pulled over and a ticket was issued I would not plead guilty or pay the fine. When these cross a justices bench they will get tossed. Asked my lawyer about this. He said no law can just be created that would override our charter. And the police know this.

My wifes family has a cottage near Bobcaygeon, not far from Hwy 507 lol. Her parents have passed and the place is now owned by the 4 children equally. That's gonna be a mess when they start passing on though as there's no succession plan beyond the current generation. It's gonna get ugly at some point I think?

CTV News Channel is reporting that there's a tweet from Doug Ford supporting that the regulations are going to be "clarified" that they apply to large gatherings, and won't apply to playgrounds. That does it. I'm going for a low-risk short ride tomorrow.
