Have a safe flight(s).

Had a great late night with a former long term staff and another long term client at Monforts. Just got home 👍🏻

Almost human again. Decent sleep - small tiff with partner as I was wrecked yesterday but seems to have settled this am.

Made her tea in the morning as our usual pattern and planned the day. Walking much better unlike yesterday. Good energy.
Decided anything to do with a plane is off the books for a bit tho some discussion of Melbourne.
24 on the deck at 6.30 am...tiny rain showers. So many small tasks to do after a 150 days away.

Really enjoyed Noraly on the big screen this am- stunning landscape and good narration. Impressed with her ride.

will see what the noobs are up to next.

Back in the saddle if not yet cleared to ride. Need a bit more time. Bike caught right away then died after a few months layoff.
Open throttle and it coughed and farted a bit then ran smoothly. Left it running enough to come to temp.
Lots of grit to clean up and the TMPS needs charging/

Why are those mirrors at different levels?

Back in my nest - lovely day ...28 on the deck at 3 pm and cloudy with some breeze.

I have an extension on the longer mirror to clear my shoulder - we drive on the opposite side of the road.

Now switching over to recovery program here in Aus. Had excellent session with physio guy today and he is laying out a 4 week fairly intense program with longer individual sessions to get me riding in 4 weeks with twice a week treatement.
His hands felt very good on my right leg today and I walked easier. Have confidence in him.
Will rent a recumbent exercycle for a month and maybe buy a decent one.
The insurance will pay for the rental. I have 5 years of physio coverage for anything related to the accident. (y)🏍️
4 weeks.....can't wait :D

That is some good insurance.

Starting stage 2 of my recovery program...hoping to be riding next month,
Concentration is on my ankle

which is more damaged than I thought.
Physiotherapy twice a week and daily exercises dancing with a chair

Better day today with the ankle √...certainly felt like I could ride but by end of the day less so.
Patience is NOT one of my virtues.
Riding buddy moved off his CB500X and ordered an Aprilla Tuareg in Blue. They did 7500 KM in 18 days through the outback and the CB500 just could not stay with the Tenere 700 or the KTM 790 in the rough stuff

Back in the saddle event delayed a day as Sunday is partner's 70th bday 🎂. She was relieved when I told her I'd wait, mostly from a focus on the Bday event since quite a few are going and we both love the spot in Palm Cove.

Right on the beach with cooling breezes off the Pacific we plan a leisurely brunch.
Jude fully supports my riding and I appreciate that, so decided waiting a day was not an issue. I do have to do some tire maintenance anyways - can do that in the am tomorrow morning then have an open day Monday to go riding early. Would love to have tea and scones out but not sure ready to tackle the Gillies.
Skybury
tho is open Monday and that's a lovely spot to bird watch. Babblers are very flighty and got some rare shots there of a courting trio without moving from my lunch spot. Have to charge the camera batteries as the MFT cameras have been idle for a while. Relied on the phone in Canada.

Have to see how my stamina is for riding....could stay very local on first ride. 🏍️

Tires sorted and what I'm wearing tomorrow morning set. Cannot find the padded shorts I was using under the Rev'it pants ⁉️despite rather thorough search. Glad I bought the extra pair which turned up in the search.
Had some light riding gloves in white I think got left in Canada. :(

Had a urology scan appointment today at an awkward time so moved first ride til tomorrow.

Ready to ride in the morning = bike and gear ready and some deep heat on my ankle worked wonders. Ankle/foot looks normal for once instead of puffy.
Temps look good too. 21 in the am - small chance of showers.

Good ride - 120 km - used up the stale gas and got a full charge on the battery. Rusty as to be expected but ride up the James Cook Highway is always a treat and reconnected with a riding buddy my same age ( we even rode white 2009 Burgman 650s:oops: Bruce now can't even drive a car :(
Will visit him tomorrow as he has moved closer to Cairns.

Stiff and sore but that was just from riding in reality not having ridden in too many months....nada from the accident. (y)nov14:23:firstride.jpeg

At least half a roast chicken has not changed price at Coles...still $6.50 with stuffing. 2 cans of crushed spiced tomatoes and 2 bags of mixed beans will get many meals for under $1 a meal and the dog gets some chicken skin tonight.

Rode to physio this am, he was pleased to see me on the bike says its good for my recovery.
He did some work on the damaged shoulder and felt that on the ride up the range to Kuranda.
Had a kangaroo pie at Annabels and bought some Anzac biscuits.

Good ride with little traffic and happy on the twists ....warm up for a Gillies run Friday I hope.
