Re: The Place Beyond the Pines

The problem with RIPD was Jeff Bridges. I could not understand a word he was saying and every time he opened his mouth I wanted to stab him.

Re: The Place Beyond the Pines

same here, and yet we still enjoyed it! LOL!

And by don't delve, you mean ignore right?!? Fantastic eye candy for sure, but the story line and inconsistencies were completely retarded! There were scenes where my GF and I would just look at each other and go 'dafuq?'.

Re: The Place Beyond the Pines

Saw Man of Tai Chi. It was a sub par movie. Badly written, directed and acted.

Re: The Place Beyond the Pines

Excited for Elysium with Matt Damon.
Thinking of pulling a trigger on it this weekend...

Re: The Place Beyond the Pines

The previews made that look awesome and I think Jodie Foster will make a fantastic bad guy

Re: The Place Beyond the Pines

just watched G.I Joe Retaliation...and it SUCKED. 1/10.

I also watched Assault on Wall street, i'd give it a 7/10...it kept me entertained and i liked the story line

Watched Elysium last night in IMAX.

Was better than I expected, Matt Damon was good, awesome support cast and the premise of the movie really plays on the haves vs have-nots.

Had a District 9 feel about it

Sent using Premium Unleaded

I plan to watch it too. Seems like an interesting concept. I see that technology in the near future.

Oh yeh, I think they had the same producers as D 9

Saw an hr of the heat and I couldn't bare it anymore. I nearly stabbed my eyes out so I wouldn't have to continue. It's an awful movie with awful characters and not funny at all. It was directed by the same people who did bridesmaids, but this was horrible. This is worst than Will Smith's after earth. I hope the people who made this are happy because it makes you lose all hope in humanity.

Directed, co-written, and co-produced by the same guy. District 9 played on the concept of institutionalized racism, Elysium on class warfare.

Wow, Elysium didn't disappoint!
Superb CGI and sound effects. Story line makes sense. Humour is present. Definitely worth adding to a collection of favorites.

P.S. Loved the Nissan GTR as a getaway car and the rocking body of Madam Foster

Pain and Gain, ok but not what I was expecting from a Michael Bay film.

What, no 'sposions? Based on a true story, so I guess he was somewhat limited.

Nope, no explosions aside from setting a car on fire. Supposedly they did it on a $26m budget with Bay, Rock, and Marky Mark not taking an upfront paycheck.

The real life story is more interesting than the movie.

That gnawed at me while I was watching. The GTR would've been over 100 years old during the time the movie takes place. That's like driving a Model T in the present. I felt Jodie overacted and overemphasized the coldhearted evilness of her character. But a good sci-fi flick overall, best of the summer.

Pacific Rim - Action-packed, entertaining, good CGI, worth the admission price. Would have been better with an R rating - could have added some depth/grit to the story but would not have been able to justify the budget with a smaller intended audience.

+1

This was better than pr0n. I don't get how they can make Pacific Rim so well but manage to **** up every anime adaption. Dragon Ball Evolution made me want to gag.

"The Gamers: Hands of Fate" - It just dropped for backers, a couple of days ago, so I had a chance to see it before the general public. If you're an old school geek, nerd, gamer, or con attendee it's worth watching. You can watch it online, for free, for the next couple of weeks. After that it will be released in extended, but serialized fashion on Youtube.
