Recent movies you saw - recommend or no

Me and the wife watched Silent Night last night. It’s a John Woo revenge flick with absolutely no dialogue. Not bad as far as this genre goes, very violent. My wife muttered something about “my choice of film next time” so I don’t think that’s a glowing recommendation from her. I found it a bit odd due to no dialogue but it sort of works but some might find it a bit forced/pretentious.

Watched the 4k UHD release of Gladiator and while a 24 yr old movie does not rival a Planet Earth II in crystal clarity, the overall presentation was excellent as was the complete preservation of detail even in darkly lit scenes.

Thanks.
...
Such a prodigy ....Natalie Portman an acting debut against a superstar like Reno....and she was 12 or maybe 11!!!

good background info - hard to comprehend she had no acting training

Netflix started streaming the newer Top Gun: Maverick and I watched it over the course of 3 nights.

Actually enjoyed it much more than I thought I would.

I can't imagine how much plastic surgery Tom Cruise has considering he looks almost the same as he did in the original.

You'll know in another 5 years or so when it starts to settle. A current picture of Madonna will give you an idea.

Gostava de trabalhar com Tom Cruise? Pois saiba que vai ter de cumprir estas regras – Forever Young

Baby faces endure ....I should know - had a few guesses for my age at the recovery center in the 60s and one optimist at mid 50s....worth a hug that one.
That he does his own stunts is what gets me....

Watched it 3 times now since the release. 3rd time being last week with my wife and she enjoyed it also.

always tears in my eyes and the 4k UHD easily exceeded the limits of my TV.
Sound was fantastic ....recall that from the orginal iMax release...bullets coming through that trawler...
Transfer was perfect - the kind of immersive experience I always hoped for......no buyers regret on that one.

Have it set up now with decent isolated cans courtesy of my kid 😢
I swiped them a couple years back and of course he got better ones. :D

Wife gave me **** yesterday. 'Oh. So you decided to watch that without me?'

I feel a rewatch is in the cards. In my defense, she's never seen the original so...
