Just finished Dune. I liked it. Bit slower than I had hoped, but good overall.

Treated Band of Brothers as a long movie as that's how I watched it, effectively straight through over two days.
If I got anything in the wrong thread, it was Doctor Strange and the Multiverse.

Dune
is a big complex book...so far Villeneuve has done a decent job. The other half to come. 🍿

I actually liked the earlier one.
Also like the new one...forked out for the 4k BR version. See how it does on a 50" instead of iMax.

I walked out.

But I went in thinking it would be a more serious film, shame on me.
Wow, I thought streaming guru wouldn't set foot into the theatre.
Thanks for that link by the way, my media server just took a dive and I need a backup source until I deal with it.

I’m a sci fi geek.

I enjoyed The Creator if only for some fresh eyes and faces.
It was sort fun catching the derivatives.....there are many.
This likely fits your experience.
Anything I get to go see in iMax with my dottor is always a special treat.

I read the reviews and said "I'm not going to waste the bandwidth on that".

Watched Indiana Jones Dial of Destiny last night - not great, or terrible, but no where near the classics.

They really should bring back the Grump old men movies with Harrison Ford. For a guy who can't blubber a thought on late night talk shows, he does pretty good acting wise.

good reviews, great cast, true story .... depressing
on Prime Good 4k feed.

I think the early CGI was throwing me off, wasn’t really feeling this one and turned it off. Maybe I’ll give it another chance.

One of my fav movies of all time but decided not to buy it in 4k Ultra.....it is leaving Prime this month and is streamed in 4k. So will enjoy it tonight....such a cast. So nice to see Val Kilmer as he was

So far the 4k feed is decent. 🍿 Does not feel like a 1995 flick.....the 4k helps.
Nice to see Ashley Judd....too bad her career got ****** over by Weinstein slimeball.
Long movie tho ....might need to break it it up for my sciatica.
DeNiro vs Pacino across the table...magic...seems I'm seeing it out.🎦
Sound is really good ...the soundbar showing its worth.

So chasing Australian movies I land on this ...
where is the scene of the action ??? Gaza circa 1917
Never stops does it.....?
Very cool early motorcycle for dispatches
The Lighthorsemen is a 1987 Australian war film about the men of a World War I light horse unit involved in Sinai and Palestine campaign's 1917 Battle of Beersheeba. The film is based on a true story and most of the characters in the film were based on real people.
Enjoyed it tho soppy at times. They spent $175 million on production and it shows in massed attack by the Light Horsemen
Roger Ebert, reflecting other critics' opinions, stated that "I was disoriented almost all the way through the movie." but that in the climax, "I haven't seen a better action scene with horses since "Ben Hur".
The film won an AFI award in 1988 for Best Original Music Score and another for Best Achievement in Sound.[10] It was also nominated for Best Achievement in Cinematography.
That it is a true story helps a lot. Visual production values very good as was the sound. Worth a go. 🇦🇺

I'm just watching the 2015 documentary "Being Canadian" on Prime. I had forgotten it even existed and it's well worth the time as there's both some really good introspection, and good comedic moments in the interviews. That makes sense because many of the people who are interviewed are comedians and the film maker, himself, has written for things like SNL.

Aside: When I was an Air Cadet a bunch of ACs from New York simply refused to accept that Rush was Canadian and not, actually, from New York State.

I might follow this up with "The Canadian Conspiracy", if I can find it.
