Recent movies you saw - recommend or no

You're recommending it? I've heard it was very, very bad

If you were around 16/32/64 bit gaming consoles and spent enough time at the arcades to hallucinate about game characters entering the real world and scattering through the streets of your town - you will have fun.
As far as the acting and story goes - same as other Adam Sandler's movies, it won't get an Oscar.

Saw Ant Man. Liked it. I'm not a comic book kind of person, but it was well done. Paul Rudd pulled it off IMO.

Saw 7 days in hell (not really a movie) and it was alright. I can't see how that type of humour appeals to the average tennis demographic. But it appealed to me.

MI: Rogue Nation - An excellent watch. Fun and never any dull moments.

The stunt work was awesome. Just about bought a BMW motorcycle in Morocco to live out the fantasy. lol.

Pretty cool camera work.

Kingsman: The Secret Service Watched this last nite.Samuel L Jackson with a lisp? Swedish anal princess? A new James Bond drink? WTF did i watch?

Minions sux. Some animated films are ok for the adults but, this one has nothing.

They are funny for small scenes in the Despicable movies but they can't manage to hold their own for an entire movie.

My son is 6. He lost interest countless times.

I thought it was pretty well done, until they threw it all away with the "Swedish anal princess."

A little while ago I received my digital copy of "Lovecraft: Fear of the Unknown", though I'm still waiting for by Blu-Ray. It's as good as I remembered from seeing it several years ago. If you're interested in horror from the early part of the last century, then you might enjoy seeing where so many of the writers got their inspiration. Also where many current film makers got theirs.

The Man from U.N.C.L.E. - Great film. Plenty of humour and action. Looking forward to the sequel.
The Gift - Creepy and realistic at the same time. Perfect amount of suspense. Not bad.

Checked out the documentary Vietnam in HD on Netflix. What a bunch of revisionist crap. Absolutely zero detail on the true causes of the conflict, plus they dishonoured the memories of everyone who fought there (on both sides) by presenting the fighters for the independence movement as incompetents. They also downplayed some of the major issues (on both sides), such as the use of Agent Orange and the mistreatment of the American POW's. Obviously, very little of it was in HD. If your intention is to learn something, don't waste your time. If you're already well-informed about that war and just wanna see some new footage/interviews, then you might want to check it out.

Since I took a couple of days off to recover from walking up and down hills at CTMP, I figured that I would finally watch "Interstellar." Jeez. Can we finally get a hard SF movie in which "love isn't the most powerful force in the universe" isn't the take-away? Something like "Tactics of Mistake" by Gordon R. Dickson might be nice.

NWA - Don't know how accurate it is because I know nothing about their history but I enjoyed the watch. That era seems so long ago now.

Trainwreck - gf asked to watch it. It had a few moments but the movie doesn't flow and it tries to rely on bad sex jokes.

Avengers: Age of Ultron - finally got around to watching this. Enjoyed the storyline and of course has great action. As enjoyable as the first one (which was excellent). Anyone notice Scarletts boobs were twice the size in this one over the previious?

I didn't think this one was very good.

I believe she was pregnant during its filming.

Southpaw - 5/10 imo. If you don't see it you're really not missing out.

The new Mission Impossible was entertaining although those espionage movies always annoy me a bit when you can never figure out who is actually a good guy and who isn't until the end but I guess that's actually more realistic. A little bit of humor thrown in, too.

Saw Wild with Reese Witherspoon earlier this week. Not a terrible movie. If you want to see her boobs they are shown quite a few times in the movie.

Fantastic four was crap. Why did they make this? I couldn't imagine them ****ing up fantastic four more than the original and silver surfer one, but they made it worst.... WHY?
