Provincial politics

Really? Something wrong with the dumb people of Ontario ... must be. nobody got what Hudak was selling. Dumb province, simple.

Yes, dumb province. Ever heard parasites killed host even they would likely die with the host? It can happen.

I thought he smiled more than anyone else I have ever seen in any election, even during his resignation speech ...

What a flaming fruitcake, if I'd had the sound turned off I would have thought he was giving the victory speech. But with the sound up I learned he was proud of what they achieved! Do words mean nothing anymore?! Everything is smoke and mirrors 24/7. I think I'll hop on my bike and take the back way to Hagersville Timmies and watch the real world slither by whilst enjoying a corporately drugged hot beverage. FML.

I'm not sure about a "dumb province" but I can positively say that the Tories had a crappy campaign and salesman. You can have a great product but if you do not present it well, you will never make a sale.

I totally disagree. Rob, why did you give Liberals the benefit of doubt? Why must there be a better alternative to them? As a matter of fact, any alternative is a better alternative. People just don't know what they want and get confused by all the empty promises.
People might not know what they want, but sure in hell they know What they DON'T want and that is the current PC platform

If the Majority of us voted for the liberals, people that do not agree need to stop crying, it is called democracy, sometimes sway your way, sometimes it doesn't.

The majority voted for more spending, more taxes, and more debt. If that's not worth crying about, I don't know what is.

Ten leeches sucking your blood and they vote to continue on sucking your blood. 10 votes vs. 1 vote. You lose. So let them keep sucking. Say yes to democracy, Ontario.

Personally I didn't find anything to cry about at the Ontario PC website.. small business owner here, burdened with massive payroll and WSIB payments, coupled with ever-increasing personal taxes. Now I'm facing another $300/month to pay for the Ontario Pension Plan, and a 50% increase in hydro costs over the next few years... not to mention whatever other taxes Wynne decides to introduce and/or increase.

For years I've been seeing first and second-hand how poorly managed and horribly wasteful the public sector is in this province, so I'm not ashamed to say I was excited to hear about job cuts there. Unfortunately with a million workers in that sector, there's no way you're winning an election with such a platform. It's too "evil".

First and third line could take a niiiice pruning. I'd do the firings myself, free of charge!

Whoa that's almost 3 million

When the Majority of people have a different view than yours, you might want to look in the mirror and realize it might be you the one with the problem :)

I'd agree, if I thought the majority of voters actually based their choice on a well informed opinion.

This province's debt went from $130B in 2002 to almost $300B today, under the leadership of the same party. This same party basically got elected on the promise that they'll continue to borrow and spend even more money. I don't care what your view is, if you agree with the way this train is going, you're flat out wrong.

True enough. I can only hope that the PC party does that very thing, because I'm tired of not having anyone I can support (or who supports me).

Topic is way too complex to just say "if you believe in X, you are wrong"

There is an X and a Y and a W and ...... I pay over 8k in property taxes every year, you think I am happy about that? but! I think the ones that have lost memory are the ones that voted for Harry's and the **** he did.

Regardless when a Candidate says "I will create a million Jobs" but let me start by firing 100k first and also failed to give a reasonable explanation on how they came up with that number; there isn't a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow that will make me vote for that person.

We are not in America, I believe Ontarians based their vote on a well informed opinion, same opinion that made many Conservatives not vote for Hudak (or whatever his name is, thank god I already forgot about him)

+ 1

PCs won fewer seats this time than last time. Former conservative voters abandoned him and his platform.

Everyone wants to save money but nobody wants to make the cuts. No wonder our debt has doubled and we're on course to borrow more more and more.

ps. your property taxes are municipal

look at the housing market and the way people treat that. what makes you think they would think differently about provincial spending? It's borrowed money not mine, I can spend it, yadda yadda.

no one remembers it has to be paid back at some point.

I understand, Using it as an illustration of the many things that piss me off and this one is on my mind since I just got my bill, bad example

Where's the pot of gold at the end of Wynne's rainbow? Seriously I'm curious which parts of their platform you found appealing. I read through the website and it sounds good... invest in education, invest in infrastructure, invest in social security, invest in a prosperity fund... it all sounds tantalizing, but then you look at the debt levels and you have to take a step back and ask, how the hell are we gonna pay for all this? There's not a single mention of THAT aspect on their site.

Genuinely curious. I'm stuck with this government for 4 years now, I need to understand why they got the votes.

Because at the end of the day I rather be in Sweden like place than in a US like place. PC was waaay to US like. That's why I voted a socialist party. Don't worry I am not delusional, I wasn't expecting NDP to turn ontario in to Sweden, but remember, life can be good at ~50% tax. It just has to be used efficiently. Which I doubt any one would in our society. Liberal money goes to the the slobs, PC money goes to the fat cats. The ones in the middle get screwed either way.
