I have a 10 over ticket from a decade ago somewhere….cop must have been bored.Don't be flippant - running 9 or 10 kmh over the limit isn't going to get you a ticket. Being stupid will.

No kidding.I have a 10 over ticket from a decade ago somewhere….cop must have been bored.
10 over might. My understanding is most of these cameras are set to ticket at 10 over.Don't be flippant - running 9 or 10 kmh over the limit isn't going to get you a ticket. Being stupid will.
Oh camera. Right10 over might. My understanding is most of these cameras are set to ticket at 10 over.
And the cameras are set up where ? Mostly 40-60 kmh limited areas. Slow down a little, enjoy the ride.10 over might. My understanding is most of these cameras are set to ticket at 10 over.
Oh, I set my cruise control to the exact speed limit passing cameras. It's seems to annoy a lot of people following behind me though ¯\_(ツ)_/¯Don't be flippant - running 9 or 10 kmh over the limit isn't going to get you a ticket. Being stupid will.
I knew where a cop was sitting this morning so I went past at exactly the speed limit. He still pulled the gun up and shot me. My understanding is police are supposed to look and estimate speed and use gun to confirm an infraction. If I shot a cop with a laser beam (especially for no good reason), they would lose their crap and charge me with assault.Oh, I set my cruise control to the exact speed limit passing cameras. Got one in Etobicoke in the early 90's for five over.I have a 10 over ticket from a decade ago somewhere….cop must have been bored.
Might be his first day on the job. Doesn't have a good estimate of speed. You have to start somewhere.I knew where a cop was sitting this morning so I went past at exactly the speed limit. Start with something more useful for the society. Like helping elder people to cross the street.Might be his first day on the job. Doesn't have a good estimate of speed. You have to start somewhere.
Or busting e-bikers.Start with something more useful for the society. Like helping elder people to cross the street.
There's no money in that.Or busting e-bikers.
There is if they're DUI ?There's no money in that.
Most of the people I know riding ebikes around busy areas are not high net worth individuals. The infractions they get ticketed for hardly matter as the court will show them mercy. There are a few like STB ripping around the woods on fancy ebikes but they are both less likely to hurt others and much much less likely to get caught. There is if they're DUI ?
Not even then, the issue is the ones on the notorious "welfare hogs" usually are not independently wealthy, can't get blood from a stone. Far too many are there because of DUIs in the first place (ironically if you have a DUI conviction you are not permitted to operate a motorized vehicle, including the ones they are riding....). Lots of potential fines all day long with this crowd, and easy to catch--just not lucrative. There is if they're DUI ?

Exactly. They are not ebikes. It is not possible to pedal the vast majority of them. Definition should be much closer to pedelec (power only while pedaling, able to attain 30 km/h on level ground by pedaling, ~80lbs instead of 264, etc). It shouldn't matter what the power source is. If it can move without you putting in effort, that is a motorcycle (or LSM).Or just declare them illegal like BC's court recently did. They are impossible to pedal and shouldn't be classified as an E-Bike but an electric low speed motorcycle.
Oma and Opa still manage to get licensed, and creep along through stop signs and traffic lights in Germany, much as they do here.I am always amused when Ontario roads are compared to German roads.
My buddy was driving his mother's Honda van, got pulled over by local German police, for speeding, who proceeded to pull the plates on the van because the wheels and tires weren't on the reg. They weren't aftermarket, just from the wrong year, so they are non stock so they need to be inspected. They were steel rims with snow tires.
You people have NO IDEA what traffic enforcement is.
It takes like three years and $4000 to get a German driver's license (and you have to know how to change a tire at the side of the road... and that might be part of your test).
Fix your bloody windshield before it goes, please. Oh, and good luck insuring that Hayabusa with an M1.Pretty sure my car would get pulled off the road in Europe for the cracked windshield I still need to replace, and for (possibly) smaller wheels with winter tires.
Ive got lots of family in Poland and they say it’s ridiculously difficult to get your license (which is good) and they laugh when I tell them I can go buy a Hayabusa on an M1 here.
And yes, most of them had to show they can change a tire, fill up fluids, and identify parts of the car when pointed to by the instructor.
One didn’t have an emergency kit in her car. Automatic fail.
I set my cruise control 95% of the time when driving to the speed limit while in the city.
