Yes, you are all worthless POS junkies that need to find work instead of handouts.
They've been saying that to unemployed people during the Great Depression.. "Get a job, you bum!" Because there were plenty of jobs to be had Our economy is still semi-ok, but in Ontario, unemployment is getting into the 10% range. By the way, if you have a part time job with only 5 hours a week, you're "employed." In the economy the way we made it, there are many jobs where you can work 40 hours a week and still not be able to live on that. Don't even start on buying a home (even with a 40 year mortgage when they used to be in the 15-25 year range) To me, THAT is a crying shame.
Look at what we consider as being 'necessary' for everyday life today, compared to 1985.
That may be true but it doesn't take away that the % price increase of the basic necessities have outpaced the % of wage increase.
Now factor in that most families have two working parents, where it used to be just one.
Factor in that having 2 kids
Factor in that having 2 kids in childcare/daycare in Toronto costs almost $2800 a month.
This year I sold my motorcycle and downgraded to a scooter as it was just too damn expensive.
Someone held a gun to your head?
Nope it was a choice.
Exactly. It's obvious that wages were never going to outpace the costs of raising kids. Complaining about the costs involved after the fact is akin to me going out and buying a GT2 for a Sunday car, then complaining about the cost of replacing the ceramic/ceramic brakes a year later.
You don't see a problem with a society were children are considered a luxury that most shouldn't be able to afford?
That's not what YOU originally complained about. YOU complained about having to give up a LUXURY (your motorcycle) to cover the rising cost of daycare. Hmmmm, my father sold his motorcycle to cover the costs of raising his 2 kids too, and that was in the 50s. Funny how that works, eh?
You don't need a 2500sq-ft home for a family of 4 now do you?
There seems to be a lot of confusion between wants and needs.
I agree 100%. That is why I have a 1,500sqft house. More space is just more stuff to clean in my opinion. lol
Trade in the two vehicles for a 1999 Caravan and a '95 Civic hatchback. Use the extra $80,000 you now have for you ****ing child care.
