Mice being killed by pesticides and machinery is something that is going to happen no matter what diet you're on. Even an all meat diet, the farm animals eat farmed grains, hence dead mice. All plant diet, yes the mice are still dead, but the cows, sheep, pigs, birds and fish are still alive. We aren't PURPOSELY killing mice, it's a by-product of modern agriculture.

No one ever claimed otherwise. If I had a cat or dog I would feed it meat, because that's what it needs to live.

It is the way of the world, ecology, food webs, trophic levels, etc.

And again here we are, one can eat meat ethically, and practice it in a manner that does not cause animals to unduly suffer.

Raising any animal just to kill it isn't ethical, not to me at least. You may think I've had too much vegan kool-aid, but I much prefer it to the paleo kind.
