Ducati Hypermotard.
I made the mistake of test riding one with no intentions of buying one. A few months later I now own one.

VFR 1200, 170hp beast with all day comfort + shaft drive :)

I agree, but according to my Insurance company (Jevco), ANYTHING Ducati will cost me a ***** load. I recently did a quote with them on an R1 which is a super-sport and was quoted over 5K/.yr!!!! And while talking my broker he mentioned that that all Ducati's fall into that super-sport category :( TOTAL bummer. So it has to be non-super-sport and non-Ducati for me ATM.

Sportbike Kev's idea is a nice one too dude, that hypermotard is saweet

Rodney, I must say... This thread is useless without a video! lol... j/k
Jevco is always high on supersports, try and get a quote with State Farm, you'll be surprised how much cheaper it is.

If the only reason you want to upgrade to a liter bike is that you can keep up with your "bud" on his R1, then you are upgrading for all the wrong reasons.

As to what bike you should get, here's my opinion, not that it matters but I'll share my thoughts with you.
If you insist, the Z1000, the B King and the Street Triple are all beautiful machines, never ridden either so I can't comment on how much power they deliver but I imagine a lot more than your 650R.
A liter supersport is a whole different animal (R1,GSXR1000,ZX10R,CBR100RR)... Make sure you know what you're getting yourself into before you take the dive.

Good luck with your decision.
