Break throughs and innovations? General motors has had heads up displays since the 80's and bmw didn't get it till 2003!

Well if your interior looked like this, you wouldn't want to look at the dash anyway.

Whereas, the BMW interior hasn't really changed much in 20+ years. That's a good thing.

**HIJACK alert: ***
Can anyone recommend a good mechanic for Audi?
Or does anyone on here do it?

Please don't taunt me with a Trans AM GTAs optional digital dash...

That dash is one of the sexiest dashes alive. If only it came optional on the "Bandit" Trans AMs (sexiest body and paint design alive.)

I kind of miss the Screaming Chicken on the hoods of the Trans Ams.

GM styling at its finest.

I hope they bring it back, maybe throw it on the Camaro.

Black with the gold Screaming... I really wish I had one.
You could always paint it onto the hood of another one, but it just wouldn't be the same since it's not factory :(

That was the run the pic was from. The guys at Joku's were all over my car like a bunch of school children when we pulled in. I remember Eshel and Alon getting in a pissing match in their 911s on 10 on the way to lunch in Brampton. Ah, the good old pre-172 days.....

LOL Alon is on here somewhere, he has a couple of KTMs...

Alpine Auto downtown are great with anything German! I've used them for years.. though I havent been in a few.

Go to Queensway - I've been driving Audi's since the late 90's and if I need a dealership I go there. The folks at Downtown Fine Cars (or whatever they are called now) are completely incompetent and have no sense of customer care!

I have always loved Audi's and BMW's. My Aunt had a BMW Bavaria in the early 80's that we always drove around in. Even as a teenager I could tell it was a different beast. In high school I bought an old Audi 4000 that spent more time being repaired than driven.

I was looking at ditching my problematic Grand Cherokee and picking up an Audi Allroad, which I have always lusted after, until I did some research. Talk about a nightmare. Same reason I ditched my BMW motorcycle, too complicated and unreliable. At least I can do most repairs on my Grand Cherokee and Harley in my garage.

Yes, its a pretty big touring platform, and in my now scientific survey of driving from BC to Ontario, taking the long way home through the southern states, it was mostly BMW and Harley that you saw on the roads setup for traveling.

In some ways BMW is complicated and other ways it is not. Depends on the bike as well, hard to compare a 1200GS with a 1600GT, completely different beasts.

I am on my 2nd BMW, with no real issues, its been a rock solid platform and the reason I bought a 2nd.

I've had so many cars over the years... I'm not on any one side of the fence.
Simple fact is - german cars today are trash. I don't mean to hurt any feelings, but there's no way around it for me, from my experience.

Take any model - after 3-4 years, there will be so many "common problems" - these are not covered by warranty, very expensive repairs - that are caused by poor design and/or cheap materials.

German cars do look nice (even great) there's no denying that, and sitting in one, you do get snobby in that euro-trash way ... but that's about it... Car will not serve you well.

Just wanted to chime in a say that if you like manuals, no one has better clutch and shifter feel than the VW models, at least in my experience. Just got a 2009 WRX and the shifting is crap in comparison to the VW vehicles I've owned. SAAB is crap, too. In reviews the poor shifter has been compared to BMW so I'm going to assume theirs aren't that great. Wondering if the STI short shifter and stiffer shifter bushing will improve it a little.
