MotoGP 2014

I hope this is true, either with Yamaha or elsewhere :

Taken from the MotoGP site:

'The nine-time World Champion, who made his Grand Prix debut in 1996 and has been racing in the premier class since 2000, is currently in the second season of a two-year contract with Yamaha having returned to the Japanese factory from a spell with Ducati.
Over recent months Rossi has hinted that he would like to continue racing beyond 2014, but on Thursday in Le Mans he provided his most positive assertion to date regarding his future.
Asked directly about his contract situation Rossi revealed that he is in a positive frame of mind about negotiations to remain in MotoGP. He said: “Last year I had some good races, one victory, but in the second part of the season I was a bit too far from the top three. So I wanted to see if this year would be any better.”
“Sincerely I feel better and I am enjoying it a lot, to continue to race and to work with Yamaha and my team. So my project is to make another contract for two seasons and I think in the next weeks, during the next races we will talk with Yamaha in order to continue.”

Why would a racing team want two guys that will potentially tangle and take each other out every single lap in every single race? Pedrosa is actually the perfect team mate: strong enough to be a tailgunner to mess with other contenders, but not trip up Marquez in his bid for another title. HRC gets a title, constructors points and two riders that arrive on the podium safely every race to advertise the Repsol brand.

Not good for the fans, but good for HRC.

Why not. Yamaha did it with Lorenzo and Rossi from 2008-2010... they hated each other in the pits and they had amazing battles throughout those years.

Again, good for the fans, but I remember Lin Jarvis looking like he had an embolism every time the two clashed:

Yamaha management spoke to Rossi about the incident, pointing out that having two teammates take each other out while one of them is so close to wrapping up a world championship for the factory is not a desirable state of affairs.

Currently Rossi being the #2 rider (despite the current standings) on the team is definitely a more desirable configuration, similar to Dani and Marc at Honda.

In Dani's defence, that strategy had almost won him the championship on a number of occasions. One (other rider's) crash from victory. And he has had some bad luck with light crash injuries too, so I can see why

I'd love to see rossi go to a gsxr and slaughter everything that moves on a racetrack. Of course then I'd wake up and realize that won't ever happen :(

Not much payoff betting on Marquez! Look at those odds! lol.

Qualifying results: http://bit.ly/1mEnBlB (bit.ly link to conceal quali results for peeps that haven't watched it yet).

Interesting qualifying results. Not a very indicator of who's been fastest though, and I think the results will be the same as always. Marquez will lead all the way, and the guys who managed to set super fast qualifying times will drop off during the race, same old story. I think Lorenzo's looked good all weekend so I have a feeling he will be a close 2nd with either Rossi or Dovi in 3rd. Pedrosa looked horrible during qualifying but I never count him out so I won't be surprised if he's up there in the top 5.

That Kid is something else!!!!!
Hope the Doctor can challenge for top spot this weekend (or anyone else LOL)

Yet another 20 second gap to 2nd place at the checkered flag, if the Q numbers are to be extrapolated.

At this point, the only suspense while watching the rest of the season will be whether he'll maintain his perfect pole and winning streak, and if he'll clinch the championship by the mid summer break or not.

Simply unbelievable.

The only person that can stop Marquez is himself falling off or being crashed into. Don't be surprised if he wins every race this season. I just hope after his fifth or sixth title he wants to prove himself on another bike and moves to Yamaha or Suzuki if they prove competitive.
Rossi!!!!! Get in all the way to the title!!!!

I think MM will stay with Honda until BMW enters MotoGP. I can see MM with BMW in the future.
