More Mosport new track spy shots (WHOLE LAYOUT)

Where did you get this info??? I've heard both Pro 6 and RC plan on having days on the big track as well as the new track.....

Its been discussed by lots of track folk.

No one spends the kind of money they're spending without a reasonable ROI. Motorcycle track days simply dont bring in the amount of money they're looking for. As more big events come to CTMP it will push the small events out. Bigger events bringing in big bucks on the big track. Smaller events bringing in small bucks on the small track.

It looks as though bikes will still be on the big track in 2014. Who knows what 2015 will bring.

Has it been discussed by anyone who actually knows?

Sounds like just of speculation and rumours to me, but I guess we will see when the 2014 schedules comes out.

VRRA's schedule just released they are running the Big track for Mosport for 2014.

When we did our track day there in July, Sandy from Pro 6 specifically said that CTMP would make no commitment to them for 2014 so as far as he knew at that time 2013 was their last year they would be running track days at Mosport. In another thread on here I asked Sheena and she said Pro 6 is going to get days there in 2014 at both tracks. This is good news. Below is the reply from Sheena in that thread. No rumours but perhaps some speculation.

Nothing is official Rob, but I'm confident we will have multiple days at both the 'big' track and the new DDT track. We also plan to do 25 days at Calabogie as we did last year, and a few Shannonville days.

Fair enough, good news all around.

When I did Mosport with Riders Choice it was on a Thursday I believe. There are no events that run during the week that I know of, most are on weekends...So if the track is not being used by big events (car or bike) then why would they not let Riders Choice and other shops use the track for motorcycle track days during the week? You seem to think its all about money, maybe it is, but then that would lead me to believe they would take whatever they can get during the week to keep the track in use as much as possible making as much money as possible

John touched on the subject and said they will be doing Mosport this year, and possibly even more dates then previous years...

Keep in mind that Mosport big track has a substantial haybale cost, both the bales and labour to install and remove. When there are several bike days in a row, they divide it up. Not favorable to have a standalone bike day between car events.

I doubt there's any track in the world that's booked every day. Mosport full track will always have days for bikes.

The cost of 20,000 hay bales has traditionally been shared between all bike day renters (csbk, vrra, docc, etc). What happens if one of those weekends is no longer available? Will ppl still do trackdays at $350?

20 000 hay bales? Do you mean there is a $20 000 charge by CTMP for hay bales?

Both would be incorrect...long live the interwebs! :violent2:

Sorry, I was trying to be polite in challenge the 20 000.

Let me try that again then

20 000 bales? Are you nuts? That would be over 200 wagon fulls. Can I get the contract for supplying those? I will stop feeding the horses and start stock piling now.

And if its $20 000 for supplying the bales and placing them, can I bid on that? Cause I figure between T1, T3, T4, T5, T8, T9 and T10 that can't be more than 500 bales. I will gladly truck them there, place them, and pick them up after for $20 000.

That better?

People will do trackdays without hay bales IMO
Mosport will NOT allow a bike track rental WITH OUT haybales. The last cost I had was $7000 for rental and instal/removal. That was a few years back so I expect it's around the $10,000 now. So if they can spread it over a week it reduces the impact to the rider.
So regardless if you would do Mosport without bales,,,,you can't.
As well,,"BoB" just can't go and rent a day at Mosport. They have certain vendors they deal with and that's it. So the days are limited and that's it. Uhmm that track is rented almost every day from April to October. So if they have a car club it's an easier rental due to the fact there is no haybales. Now that they have a truck race/Nascar it will increase the rentals with Nascar teams for practice.
So as per the normal Mosport cycle,,expect less days until the next car industry dip. Plus the more they rent the new RDT track the less they will "Need" to rent the big track. Or the more they can charge!

The last numbers I had were about 1200 with air fence and probably about 1500 without. The bales are rented from the farmer. He gets paid to install and remove the bales as well. So factor a few wrecked bales what he takes back he can use for the horses,,it's a good gig!

Really?????l,, we did back in the day and it was INSANE!Now that's it safer,,,,it's still INSANE! This is no slow track. I think it's the fastest in North America.
I can take my F250 with 80 PSI in the tires through corner 5,,,,the slowest corner on the track at 100KPH,,easy. Now for those that have crashed there,,
,, ,,, you just don't want to even think of doing Mosport with out bales or more! Nobody that knows Mosport would consider it. But Mosport will never let it happen anyway. THANK GOD!
