merry.... ummmm... day ?

If they voted it then they aren't real Canadians. Less than half of real Canadians vote (as percentage of total population).

Which proves they don't care. Cry all you want, clearly, for most this is a not an issue. I doubt it's an issue with other religions here in Canada. It's the yuppies that are over zealous when it comes to political correctness. On my work site we joke and laugh all day about each other's backgrounds or just about anything we can pick on. No one cares, I actually find some of the racial slurs thrown at me hilarious. Now, bullying is very different and it should't happen.

I've been in other countries during their religious times... Ie in Dubai during Ramadan. I made sure since I was a guest in the country I didn't offend anyone, but actually took interest in it.
I think if this country let's you in to live here, you should feel priveledged and need to accept the customs we have here. I don't give a f what you celebrate. Go dance on your rainbow float in a parade, wear whatever head dress you require every day, and celebrate whatever tradition you have, if I don't like it I'll ignore it until its over. If you don't like the customs of your new home, you can either ignore it, or learn to like it or get the f out. You have no right to push your beliefs on to your new hosts because it offends you.

I'm not religious, but I call it Christmas and always will, no matter who I'm talking to. Sorry if you have thin skin.

Ok so I am going to edit your insults as that is not permitted.

Second... do some research... I can give you at least two pagan holidays that existed on every date or time of year for every christian holiday..

Of course. Early Christians created their dates to line up with pagan holidays. Christmas in particular has no relation to the actual date of birth of Christ, but Christianity needed a grand festival in winter to compete with pagan solstice celebrations.

Many decry Christmas as being too commercial these days, but Christmas as a Christian religious festival was itself the product of early Christians marketing their new religion to the pagans by offering them an alternate big party to celebrate at.

Religion or politics.Boooooo!
Oh and btw...cheers and Merry Christmas.

My glass doesn't like your glass. It muttered something about getting really drunk and headbutting your glass.

I did the tank seals on 2 WEDM machines this week. Even with Agent Orange it'll be a week before my hands are clean again.

lol I saw it too. The scar is cool though:icon_smile:

Which one (I count seven)? You'll have to be more specific.

Off to fill the glass again.

The long one, my ortho cut a piece of bone out of my radius and bolted a plate to it when it wouldn't heal. Aparently when you break it, you're supposed to wait six weeks, not cut the cast off Saturday night, wrap the arm in an Ace bandage Sunday morning and race, then go to the hospital Monday morning, tell them you "fell in the pool", and get a new cast......3 weeks in a row. The other ones, I ......er........um.........cut myself shaving. Ya, that's it. Shaving.

Bar fight. Reinforced glass door. Someone on the other side holding it shut REALLY needed a punch in the face. That **** don't break like in the movies.

so you a tough guy ah....lol

I can take a good shot.

Still hurting from having Sonny and the rest hand you your *** in the Occupy Toronto thread, so you figured you'd troll elsewhere?

Stop it you two, this thread is about ****** off people on what others call the Christmas tree...or some **** like that

I have a couple of things to say here..

1) I don't celebrate Christmas at this time, but I do celebrate it

2) It's Christmas. Stop going ****ing PC on me, Canada!

3) I've dealt with Muslims from Turkey, Bosnia, Morocco, Yemen, India, Iran, Libya, Lebanon, Algeria, Pakistan, Afghanistan and Iraq. Some are friends, some are casual acquaintances, some are clients, some are suppliers, some are very observant, some can have a drink and eat a bit of bacon, it doesn't matter.. What they do have in common is that they never treated me badly for being Christian. Hell, my Libyan roommate in university would invite me to his cookouts, but would be sensitive enough to set aside a plate and cutlery for me because he knew that Europeans don't eat from a communal dish. In most cases, I experienced friendliness and true respect for my own culture. Are all Muslims angels? Hell no, no more than we are. But comparing every Muslim to a few extremists is like comparing every Christian to a rabid Teapartier.

4) I walked into a Crappy Tire today and saw "Merry Christmas" on the door. I'll be more inclined to shop there out of respect.

5) I found this both sad and funny

thats soooo funny.....and possibly not that far off!.... ICK!

This reminds me of the sign that used to be on the wall in the shop I worked at right behind the cash register (Mind you this is was Elmira):

In a recent survey Canadians were asked are there too many immigrants in this country? The results were as follows:

18% said Yes

15% said No

67% said أنا لا تفهم السؤال من فضلك!

I don't understand why we have to change our traditions to make sure other cultures feel comfortable? Do you think if enough Canadians go to China they are going to call off their Chinese new years? Or if we go to the middle east and tell them they should dress differently? I doubt that. .
Kids arent even allowed to dress up in school for halloween anymore.
