MAPLE LEAFS SUCK

Drop the goalies. There's no reason the Leafs should be playing a 2nd rate goalie as their starter. Toskala has been a back-up goalie for how long? He doesn't have the skill to start and finish every game. perhaps after a few years of it, maybe.

Toskala is good... he doesn't have the support, thats it. he's still working his way up to his prime. We should drop raycroft though and bring Poggie up as soon as possible to give him experience... He's amazing..

this season is a write off... we should finish dead last to get the #1 draft pick... do it next year again and pick up taverse (whatever his name is) if the NHL doesn't let him draft this year.

i dont know if you all noticed ....

but the leafs suck!

omg do they ever suck.

my experience and expertise in hockey is not worth the time to explain it any further.

worst team in the NHL. period. no future, no hopes, NOTHING.

and they scariest part .......
not an empty seat in the house...for the next 10 years.

clean off yonge st. here comes the stanely cup parade.

I think Toskala is a decent goalie. I think our defence is horrible. All this hype around Kaberle and McCabe is garbage. Yeah they can score but can they actually defend??? How many good teams out there let their goalies get pounded night after night with 30+ shots? Not many. Get some real defenders and we will be nice. The Leafs have so many panzies on the team. We have no real enforcer on our team right now. I wish we could have done a deal to get Pronger. Even Laroque when he was available would have brought some toughness to our team. Maple Leafs...More like Maple Panzies.

the sad thing is Laroque WANTED to play in toronto and we wouldn't sign him... we need to trade colaccovio. Hes always hurt... i don't care how much potential he has... if he can't play what does it matter...

LOL, It is funny to me how much finger pointing there is towards the LEAF players. "We don't have a good goalie, defence sucks, forwards can't score". The leafs have always had a batch of great goalies Felix Potvin, Cujo, Eddy Belfour and Toskala is pretty good also. They so need help on defence and need forwards that can score. So you sign Darcy Tucker to 5 yrs for him having a record year of 15 goals WOW. Tell me what line would a Darcy Tucker fill on a real team, how about filling water bottles! So Blake was on the 2nd or 3rd line in Long Island record season again 40 goals, he comes to Toronto and is placed on the top line with Sundin WOW! Can you please tell me where the logic is behind that? Seems that a 4th line player can be a starter and first liner in Toronto, I think that is a slap in the face to a player like Mats Sundin having riff raffs make his line, this is the elite player of your team surrounded by crap, if you play with crap you become crap. The real finger pointing shopuld go to the people who fill the seats and pay astronomical amounts of $ to watch a team that can't win. If this was Montreal or any real hockey town fans would have stopped attending the games and change would be imminent, starting from management to making moves on the players on the ice, but if people continue to attend why fix whats not broken?

first of all, can we correct the grammatical "we should trade"/"because we".... we don't own the team, we're the fans, and no, owning memorabilia from the team doesn't grant you the right to be in the "we" category... it's just silly. we need to refer to "we" as "the staff/management", cuz "we" aren't in charge/responsible for such things.

Funny you mention Montreal. I use to work at Maple Leaf Gardens during some trying seasons (85 - 90) Anyhow one of the more memorable games for me was a Montreal / Toronto game. We use to get huge crowds of Montreal fans come down for the matches. Anyhow, I was working the West Reds this one game. With about 3 minutes to go in the first period. A couple of Montreal fans come into my section with newly bought souvenirs in hand. They show me their tickets. As I am giving them directions to their seats. They look at the scoreboard. 5 to 0 in favor of Toronto. They slam their stuff on the floor. Throw their tickets in the air and stormed out. Never to be seen again for that game.

Jay,

The more entertaining parts of leaf games for me is when they're over. Especially after a game like last night. I will tune into LEAFTALK on AM640 with Andy Frost. Last night's show was one of the best in a long time. Andy lead the audience up for a recap of Leaf highlights. You then hear dead air on the radio with the exception of a few crickets chirping. I thought that was a priceless moment on LEAFTALK Radio. Then of course everyone in LEAFNATION want's to rant about what they have to do to fix the problems.

Get use to it. It's only going to get worse before it gets better!

Disagree with this one. We aren't in charge? Sure we are ;o)
The owners of MLS are looking to make money, that is ALL. The team is simply an investment for the Teacher's Pension Fund. "We" the fans stop going, stop buying jerseys and stupid friggin bobble heads, trust me the team will get better. I'm not saying they'll win the cup next year but they will be either forced to sell the team for a profit (a good thing!) or turn it back into a money maker (by winning). Not easy, or quick but the only real solution.

And so begins another spring......
Thats a good thing for bikes! As soon as the leafs hit the golf course, its time to bring out the bike!
I'm sick of cheering for them...i cancelled my leafs TV, sold my jerseys on eBay, and ripped off my Leafs bumper sticker...
Trade Sundin, Wellwood, Tucker, McWaste, and Krapina to Columbus for Rick Nash, then i'll cheer again...
Go Habs Go!

They have to get rid of that Ponkahosky, and start buying out all the dead wood like Tucker, Blake and that tandem of idiots named Kaberle and Mcabe.

Last night the moron on CBC (non Bob Cole) commented that Straulman needed to strengthen his defensive play. Im like...Kaberle never strengthened his...he's like a deer in the headlights back in his own end.

As much as I hate the Pea Soup Eaters, I would rather have them win than the Senators with that bum Alfredsson and co.
The Sens will just choke again...like always...
Thats the difference between Toronto & Montreal...the seats at the ACC are filled with suits...while the seats at the Bell Center are filled with drunk french people...i rather go to the drunk game...
