I'm wrong on this one...? Which one..?
I haven't taken a side at all... I simply said the spin CNN tries to put on things is so over the top it hurts.
Listen to the reporters... They're making even up words to paint the people there in a certain light... "Insurrectioners" Really?
These are supposedly educated journalists...
IMHO Both the Rep's and the Dem's are lying, cheating bags of crap... Their respective supporters are woefully blind to it.
The US is struggling thru a leadership vacuum at the moment. Hopefully that will get better in two weeks.
My biggest fear is not Biden, he has a history of working both sides of the aisle. Its his sr team (Schumer, Pelosi) who scare me - their divisiveness and willingness to unify the country is on par with Obama and Trump.
I'm confused... they're willing to divide and unify the country on a scale of Obama and Trump?
How is unifying the country a bad thing? Divisivness doesn't work... unless you're wanting to start an authoritarian banana republic.
Wait..
Isn't that the definition of politics?
"He who lies best, wins."
Whomever can dupe the populace the best gains power.
Personally, I think that there should be accountability --- you promise X, you get X. If you don't, you get fined or thrown in jail. PM or MP be damned. Forced accountability.
"democracy incorporates four major principles: it is a political system for choosing and replacing governments through free and fair elections; it involves the active participation of citizens in politics and public life; it entails protection of the human rights of all citizens; it is a rule of law in which the laws and procedures apply equally to all citizens."
IS the USA a democracy right now, they seem to be struggling with some of the concepts.
Also, just my opinion, but I don't understand why anyone would ever use twitter. You can't make a cogent point or argument in 280 characters and it only takes about 4 tweets until the conversation reaches rock bottom... "You're Stupid", "You're Pathetic", "Kill Yourself". It really is a platform that caters to the lowest common denominator in society
Twitter is great if you take it for what it is. It isn't a place to read a 5000 word essay on a singular topic, any nuanced opinion, or to have any sort of conversation. It is great for finding out what's going on immediately either from the people that are saying it, people that are seeing it, and people who's opinion you want to hear on what's going on. Good way to waste a minute or five.
Today was a great example of where Twitter is good, instead of waiting for news media to report various things, you could get it directly from Twitter. The opinions of the president, information from reporters and civilians on the ground, images from photographers on the ground, statements directly from politicians. All of that stuff goes on Twitter first, and then the rest of the media reports on it.
The comments are a cesspool of stupidity from all sides, as expected, but the larger accounts are informative and entertaining.
everything about this made me lol, guy looks like hes having a good time, the goofy smile while showing your face to the cameras in the middle of committing a felony, but also white looters :

If you're confused, I'll simplify it for you (sorry it's gonna take more than 280 characters)
Unifying is a good thing. Biden has a good track record in this area. Except for the 4 years he worked for Obama where it was a point of contention between the two.
Biden's top dogs, Pelosi and Schumer, are in the 'Great Divider' camp -- their position and record aligns with Obama and Trump, not with Biden's.
Biden has POTUS, the Senate and the House - he will be among the most powerful presidents ever, he can do as he pleases, arse-banging every Republican on earth for the next 4 years if he chooses to do so. I'm pretty sure Pelosi and Schumer are planning exactly that, it's up to Biden to reign them in and make unification a priority.
If the country continues to divide, Trump will build the largest non-religious cult the world has ever known.
