Macdocs Lament ••• Forks - same old same old, maybe a bit better.

four riders with broken legs from mcycle on this floor 2 girls 2 guys including my new neighbor

Worked in a teaching hospital in Montreal decades ago when in school, PT clerical on wards across all services. There was an Ortho for elective orthopaedic procedures and next to it an Accident ward requiring ortho work after an accident of some sort. In the riding season there was always 1 four bed room full of motorcyclists recovering from accidents and another couple of rooms full of car accident people. In the winter season there was often a room full of people recovering from snowblower accidents (remember not to put your hand down the discharge chute to clear it........)

Most patients were generally nice people, not happy to be there, but pleasant. That said, there were a few in really rough shape and / or in traction for months and these guys despised being injured, stuck in bed, using bedpans, zero privacy and they were very angry and often could be brutally verbally abusive to their fellow patients and staff as well.

A wardmate of an acquaintance screwed up on his snowmobile and hit a tree more than 20' off the ground. Poor guy had broken almost everything and wasn't happy about life. Being in pain, unable to move and crapping in a pan for months wears on you.

Coffee and butter tart was good yesterday. Owner of a highly farkled T7 told me i was wearing the wrong jacket.Klim is for adv riders.
I feel like such a failure. :(

I think that riding a Ural is an adventure. Get that guy to turn right at speed and then come back and talk to you.

EDIT:
On that note, how is the hairpin? Does it try to fly even going slowly down the hill? How does it do up the hill? Easy to carry speed or corner is still too sharp for it to be happy?

I must just be missing you at the forks, usually I'm through that place a couple times a day

Haven't been down there in many years. Too many yahoos on two and four wheels. The Ural would be fine tho.
I'm getting better with it. No extra weight anymore. It's fun to feel the sidecar lift up.

I used to like the feeling of calm when you flew the Tornado but it terrified my wife. Sailing while sitting 8' in the air is a far different experience.

Hang in there buddy. I think the last time I was at the Forks of the Credit was 1973 or 74. I suspect it's changed a bit since then. Likely, not for the better.

My brain is refusing to contemplate no weight on the cast, no so bad, no use of right arm & hand
