Macdocs Lament ••• Forks - same old same old, maybe a bit better.

Mobbed at the Forks this morning with a bicycle club ...continued along to Hockley. Little scoot was wide open on the hill on 10 past Forks turn but held just under 90 kph which I though admirable considering grade and headwind.
Also briefly took it on the QEW and it was fine as well sticking with middle lane with traffic with a little to spare. Very stable, so at least have the 400s as an option but it's pretty noisy at speed - almost wish I'd brought the C-3 but being able to wear the Shark in 3/4 is worth it.

Gorgeous day - everyone and grandma out riding...off course ******** with straight pipes can't resist either.

Was interesting watching/listening to the guy riding round the world on an EV motorcycle. Very quiet and very quick. Gonna follow them.
.

Thought I was doing well with the fuel - had 150km at 50% but then dropped stupid fast with the climb up 10. $7 fill up. with the fuel door right upfront ....just stay on the bike....generally well thought out tho the storage is less than I thought. Will take a small pack back for groceries as additional carry.

Wtf? Sorry to hear Macdoc. On the bike or just walking around? Damn.
Says he turned left in front of it, I would think he was on his bike. Crazy times on the roads.

Coming across 15sr today i was setting at the stop sign and just happen to glance in my mirror and seen a van approaching very fast. I gunned it through the sign just as the van started locking up the brakes or he would have rear-ended me.

Was going to chase the person down as i was ****** off, But before i could get a spot to turn around as the van turned left and i went straight. i had a second thought and realized i would have probably lost the battle

We can only hope that the realization that they could have killed you will be the wake up call they need.

Smacked by car I turned left in front of it ( my fault i'm told - I have zero memory )
Busted leg - fixed now

Thanks all - good use of gear
Having family in New Zealand I wonder about driving or even walking where they drive on the left.

Here as a pedestrian I first look left before stepping off the curb. Down under it should be look right first.

GWS and glad it wasn't worse. As for the scoot, is it get fixed soon or rest in pieces?

When I was in Oz, I was constantly repeating in my head traffic directions. One small mistake and you are squished. It didn't help that I was driving less than 24 hours after arriving. I didn't have issues but it was a constant drain to stay on top (especially in turning circles).

hmmmmm

four riders with broken legs from mcycle on this floor 2 girls 2 guys including my new neighbor
Heal well MacDoc. I take it you remain in hospital. How long until you get released?

I guess there are many bike collisions that are not worthy of a news report because I don't recall hearing of that many recently where the riders required hospitalization.
