I watched a reaction video to that last night. First thing he says in it, if she was attracted to the "harasser" it wouldn't have been an issue. So very true.

A couple of things I disagree with:
1) His definition of assault does not line up with Canada's courts definition of assault. Firstly: assault is not always criminal. Harming someone by accident IS assault, just not criminal, for an assault to be criminal there must be intent to do harm. If one person does damage to another: That is assault. If a person does damage to another person INTENTIONALLY: That's CRIMINAL ASSAULT. If a person does damage to another person by way of an an asininely stupid act, that was unintentional: That's criminal negligence occasioning bodily harm (or death).
2) The criminal code defines weapon as "instrument used to assault". If someone is assaulted, using an instrument, ANY instrument (read the law, there are no exclusions) used in assault is a weapon. If you do intention harm to another person with a tissue, that tissue is a weapon. IF there was an assault, and there was an instrument used, That's assault with a weapon. The assault makes the instrument a weapon, IF you assault someone with a THING, that THING becomes a weapon, no matter what the THING is
I have been charged with assault with a weapon, and successfully argued both these points in court. The weapon was a letter ( like postage, mail. I didn't beat a guy with a giant "W")... it's all about INTENT

I watched a local newscaster interviewing neighbours of the assaulted fellow.

Consensus of every neighbour interviewed is he’s a a **** disturbing prick. Police know him demands they come if a local kid trespasses to collect a baseball that lands in his front yard. Or when a someone parks with a tire more than 12” from the curb.

What gives YOU the right to judge another person's sensitivity? Some people shake off personal comments but others don't. Some jerks actually get off in harassing people. There's a reason it's called harassment. PTSD is no joke.

My bad Next time i see some twat posting BS like that for clout i will try to show some sensitivity.
 
Not sure if I would classify one somewhat innocent comment as "harassing". If commenter kept making passes at her and she continually denied him I could see her view, but one comment I wouldn't go that far. A lot of single women say men don't approach them anymore. This is why.
 
Maybe JT should have targeted gun control reform at the rcmp? Has any other group lost more than a dozen automatic weapons and hundreds of handguns and then shrugged and says they don't know what happened?

It is very subjective. Differentiating between a compliment and a suggestive comment is tough when it comes to anything besides an accomplishment. "Great job on that report". Add honey, dear or luv and pray for a swift death.

Mentioning body parts is thin ice. Staying in the hetro world would you say a similar thing to a same sex person?

Gloria Steinhem once chastised a reporter that said she was nice looking. "You have no right to judge my looks" Point taken.

We're allowed to judge just about everything else. Produce, dogs, cats, figure skating, cars, recipes, cheeses, beers, furniture, motorcycles etc. Members of the opposite sex NO.

If the jerk at the gym had, instead of ogling her, said "I noticed you doing XZY and you were really nailing it" she might have replied with a curt "Thanks". End of subject, move on. If she elaborated on why she liked XYZ it opens a conversation.

Sorry, I'm touchy on the subject because I'm close to three families that have been destroyed by various forms of harassment and psycho attitudes. When one considers that 30% of the female population gets sexually assaulted to one form or another it's big deal. Not all people can handle the pressure. There have been cases of teenagers, usually girls, committing suicide.

Until the damage is done it's hard to recognize which ones are sensitive. Do we need to consult a lawyer before we ask a person out, hold their hand or, heaven forbid, try for a third date kiss?

Arranged marriages anyone?

There's similar issues all over the US.. and less so in Canada.
Some of them, and their records, make this guy look like good.
We have cops with criminal records.

Someone should compile, and make public, mcneil reports so the public can see who is policing us.
 
BC rcmp group chat full of serial, racist and homophobic comments. Suspended with pay almost four years ago. Finally coming up on misconduct charges soon. Just embarrassing. This open and shut crap with evidence needs to be dealt with in months not years.

If it's like the rest of the police departments it's suspended with pay. Please say I'm wrong.
 
I guess transport truck drivers have to be on the lookout for Oceans 11 style heists these days, getting blocked in and their rear doors opened and emptied quickly. Heard back in the day the UPS trucks coming out of the Hamilton airport shipping terminals were filled with something like %50 Apple products being shipped to customers(no idea if true). I could see how it could add up quickly at the $1200? phones these days.

Some years back there was a truckload of Ducati motorcycles that was grabbed in Brampton. The truck was ultimately found by a Peel cop. Who also raced at Shannonville. Can't remember if he rode a duc though.

I used to hang around with a semi driver that drove all kinds of cargo including booze. A case of whiskey (12 X $50) is $600. 20 cases per layer on a skid ($12,000) times five layers = $60,000 per skid times 40 skids = $2,400,000. No serial numbers to fudge. Cigarettes are similar.

I mentioned the theft of a trailer of frozen turkeys to him and what the thief was going to do with 20 tons of turkeys.

He said all they had to do is find one crooked butcher and he will know another ten who will in turn know another ten each. They'd be gone in a couple of days.
