Re: one set of ru;es for them one set of rules for us

Then the cop would be able to explain to an intellegent person why although an officer is supposedly on a coffee break and a union member he or she doesn't have the option like that of other occupations to say "I'm on my break" if an urgent situation comes up.

In a land of unicorns, yes. In the real world, not so much. I was once standing in a shop chatting with 3 friends, one of who was in 51 division, in uniform, and on duty. All of a sudden his radio started going off like crazy. This code, that code, shots fired at officer. He nonchalantly reached down and turned it off. I asked him why he wasn't going to the call. He said that half the cops in the city would be enroute, there was no point in him going too, and he went back to talking shop with us. While it sounds all nice and honourable, your little made up cop recital has little to do with how they REALLY think or act.

Re: one set of ru;es for them one set of rules for us

lol this is funny because if it was EMS or TFD no one would say one word.

On this site they would. Trust me. They would complain if Ghandi parked in a wheelchair spot near the Roti Hut.

Believe me. Just when i thought i'd seen the outer limit of pettiness, someone on GTAM surpases it. Every time. 100% of the time.

LOL. So such a call goes out and EVERY COP IN THE DIVISION should respond? Regardless of what he/she is doing. And YOU get to be the moral barometer as to what that "indifference" should mean to the general public.

I think you have been breathing in a bit of horn polish there man.

Again....we talked about this in group.....

Speaking of it being impossible to get a police car when you need it.. Last summer I was out in front of my house with a couple roommates when a car goes flying by down the street and hits a post and flips over. Called 911 and got voicemail.

Friends of mine got attacked and robbed 2 blocks south of 21 division and it took them 45 minutes to get to them.

The sad thing is that it's become so norm that I'm no longer surprised or affected by such events.

they must have been parked legally in the parking lot at timmies, you know where one must have to walk 5 to 10 meters past parking in the wheelchair spot/on the sidewalk. it was not usual and they got lost in said parking lot.

???? A 51 copper let a shooting assist call slide? Thats beyond unbelieveable to me I'm sorry. Then again 51 and 53 share a band so if it happened in the north end of 53 its (kinda) understandable but still an absoloute shock to me. Somethings not right with that story. Either you heard wrong, he was trying to be cool, or hes a ****ing plug

Re: one set of ru;es for them one set of rules for us

Like the Americans and their twin towers....

Have we got past the fact that cops can park anywhere they want yet, or...?

I see people are still clinging to the notion that what they are doing is illegal even though it isn't.

That was the point I was making earlier when the thread was on topic.

Got there yet?

or is it still a cryfest because a law they don't have to follow isn't available to all of us. Like, as I said, carrying .40 cals in public.
You just don't get that it isn't about parking wherever they want, It is about their attitude.

You got an attitude, what happen didn't take a napy today?....I get it maybe you are a cop

Re: one set of ru;es for them one set of rules for us

Why is that unbelievable?

Perhaps your penchant for the "fantastic"? You have more bad cop stories than anyone i have ever heard of.

So many, that i call complete BS on most of them.

Clear enough?

Re: one set of ru;es for them one set of rules for us

OH...and in case you guys/gals missed it.....

There is an ACTUAL THREAD where someone asks for ACTUAL stories of police abuse. Why are you guys wasting time on page 61 of this thread, when the other one is RIPE for page 10 pap!??!?!?! Get on it!!!!
