"But in March 2023, the Innocence Project said it had collected evidence showing that Hemme was innocent and the crime was actually committed by Michael Holman, who was a St. Joseph police officer at the time of Jeschke’s death. The Innocence Project said police hid evidence that linked Holman, who died in 2015, to the crime. The St. Joseph Police Department didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment Sunday."

Wankers. OPP setup outside TMP again and beat on some ricers. While I appreciate targeting vehicles with shady/unsafe modifications, targeting those that actually take it to the track is misguided imo. They won't stop modifying but they will stop going to the track and just race on the streets if the track has a higher heat score.

In his short career with Toronto Police my late brother was chastised for his low ticket count. There wasn't a stated quota but his superior noted that he might not be observant enough to deserve promotion. Hint, hint.

So one day he ticketed a bunch of kids for obstructing traffic by playing street hockey. His S.O. wasn't amused by the ticket count.

To Serve and Collect.

We don't have a dumb criminals thread. In honour of turbodish, good catch. Cops found some armed bad guys. Check out the ammunition they had loaded in the gun. Nothing says accuracy like at least four types of ammunition in one magazine. I guess if your plan is spray and pray, mixing up the bullets increases your spread so you are more likely to hit something?

They say that sometimes guns are easier to get on the black market than ammo.
You only need to buy the gun once.

Wait a second.... that's a restricted handgun with an illegal magazine.

We better take hunting rifles away from farmers. Maybe that will get the message across.

Wouldn't you pray and spray? If you start praying after you pull the trigger, @ 1,200 FPS, you've already either hit or missed your target.

Isn't a fingernail file an illegal weapon when illegally used as a weapon?
According to Canadian law, anything can be considered a weapon.
Doesn't even need to be used as one, you just have to admit that you have it for protection.

If you tell the cops that you carry a briefcase just incase you are attacked, that is now an illegal weapon and you get charged. Yay Canada.

Would that include defensive options, only of use for protection? A helmet, chain mail, ballistic armour, safety goggles, heavy leather.

I'm under the impression bullet proof vests are restricted to some degree.

That is an interesting question.....

It does not appear that Ontario has any restrictions on body armour for purchase or wearing.

In Ontario, this would appear to be the case. It varies by Province.

Good on the cops for getting him again. Courts need a major overhaul. Any bets in whether the courts release him again?

An Oshawa man out on three separate release orders has been arrested again and is facing 30 new criminal charges, police say.

Police said eight separate incidents resulted in 30 charges being laid.

They all look to be minor property crimes. They are keeping the reservations on the cages for more serious offenders apparently.

What he lacks in severity he more than makes up for in volume and contempt for the law. That warrants (heh) jail time.
