Professional law enforcement in the US
Doesn't surprise me at all. Confrontations between city police and county sheriffs are far from unusual down there. There's a sheriff in New Mexico who was arrested by city police, for abuse of power, and there's video of deputies blocking access to city police so they could serve a warrant. The sheriff got 3 years. His "under sheriff" was forced to retire, or face charges for events during the service of the warrant.

If anyone is interested in the case I posted about just search Youtube for Sheriff James Luhan. The Cop Watch Youtube channel has the whole hour+ of bodycam footage of the SWATT style arrest of Luhan and there are numerous clips from local news about it.

She's from Espanola. Still talk to an old GF's brother (both from there). He said she's well known in town, and not well liked. Originally worked for the town police and more or less was shunned by the townsfolk.

Interesting to see how this ends up. Again, PSA should be adjudicated ASAP. No need to wait for a criminal trial to determine if people that wildly blast away in public should be permitted to open carry daily.

Details, details. With charges laid the only thing that we'll hear is "before the courts, no comment"

One bullet hole in the W/S. If that implies the vehicle was trying to run down the police, police need more range time.

Given the description of the event and the charges, I think that will be an exit hole. Sounds like cops unloaded on a fleeing suspect on a public road.

YIKES
So I read a Vancouver copy was wearing a star of david insignia on his uniform, that he was asked to remove.
OK... an easy lapse in judgement.
The patch
errrr NOPE
Quite the little breach of uniform policy. <sarcasm> No, that could never cause the reputation of the force to come into disrepute. </sarcasm> These little departures in uniform, for a group that's supposed to behave in an even handed way with the public, need to be stamped out. There's a reason why it's called a "uniform" and not a "personal expression suit."

Toronto Police vehicles got over 1000 speed camera tickets. As expected, the cloak of silence is dropped over everything with many bs reasons but mostly to avoid embarrassment and accusations of incompetence.

"CTV News first requested the speeding tickets issued to police vehicles in 2021, but was denied access on the grounds that disclosing the tickets could reveal investigative techniques, reveal law enforcement intelligence, and facilitate the commission of an unlawful act,"

Canadian law enforcement... the epitome of "do as we say, not as we do".

Hope that they got a volume or at least a trade discount.

Why bother. It's just taxpayer money. Besides, the more you spend, the more you need to request for next year. They inflate by percentage not dollars so the more speeding tickets they get, the more money they have to spend in perpetuity.
Great deal for the company that administers the tickets as well hundreds of thousands in free taxpayer money.
