Re: TPS Officer from 52 Division Died today:(

i hope it's not just a couple of kids going on a joyride and then making a bunch of bad choices.

accounts say the guy wasn't wearing shoes. . .if he's mentally challenged, he needs to be put away for a while.

cops know that they are taking a risk in their jobs, but this is just stupid, tragic.

condolences to his family, young wife, young child.

Re: TPS Officer from 52 Division Died today:(

What an absolutely ridiculous set of circumstances. Such a shame....RIP

Re: TPS Officer from 52 Division Died today:(

Story just keeps getting more and more crazy.... you can't make this stuff. up
- Guy with no shoes hops into a truck with a plow on it
- Swipes a cab, as the cabbie gets out of his car to exchange insurance info, the guy in the truck takes a run at the cab driver and misses.
- Slams into the Ferrari dealership
- Officer gets him to stop and then he runs down the officer who was outside his car
- keeps on going hitting other cars etc
- hits a garbage truck (which was bigger) and tactical unit moves in, shoots the guy and he is taken to St. Mikes.

Some people are messed up. The officer dieing really sucks.

Re: TPS Officer from 52 Division Died today:(

I too have a buddy at 52.
Really sad.

Right now they are operating on the Killer.
Stop, let him die.
Trash.

Not cool.

Re: TPS Officer from 52 Division Died today:(

If he's mentally challenged, he needs to be put on proper meds and monitored by doctors.

I would suggest he receive a shot of cyanide for his meds, and monitored till he dies.

Re: TPS Officer from 52 Division Died today:(

RIP Sarge.
This is a terrible incident. My condolences go out to the family, friends and colleagues. Something's not right about the suspect. If he was just an idiot and/or on drugs, he should have the book thrown at him. If it is the case of a mental illness... It's a rough one to call.. Even if the suspect gets "cured", I'd still have him serve out some serious time at a proper facility. For these cases, we should have a separate parole system for which meds and followups should be a strict condition, but time still has to be served.

Yup, sometimes a tragedy is just a tragedy but I'd punt him in the head just to be on the safe side.

Re: TPS Officer from 52 Division Died today:(

Sad too that a 2 year old will never see his father again. Suspect is a 44 year old apparently with a seriously screwed up head. The right meds might help him get his life back in order but won't help the cop or his family. Revenge won't do much either and we can't lock up every person that acts a bit weird.
It would be scary to think about the potential harm if the weather was better, bikes and pedestrians out in droves. Any vehicle would be lethal.
Guns in Arizona or motor vehicles here, if someone wants to kill they can find a weapon.
R.I.P. officer Ryan

Re: TPS Officer from 52 Division Died today:(

It doesn't matter if he is messed up or not, he took a cops life, and doesn't deserve to live.

I wish, that doesn't happen in this city... dealt with many that should be on meds and monitored for ever but are out and about.

I went to High School with Ryan, such a senseless Loss. Now a young boy has to grow up without a father.

RIP Ryan, my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

Re: TPS Officer from 52 Division Died today:(

So sad to hear.
My condolences to Ryans wife, family , colleagues and friends.

No family deserves this....even if this guy pays it wont help.

Not buying the mentally unstable shtick. Driver had the right of mind to drive the plow all over the city crashing into things. Sounds to me he knew what he was doing.
