Late night thread

Last night thieves cut a hole in the perimeter fence here at the plant and zip-wheeled a lock securing a contractor's shed. Made off with power tools, gas generators etc. Plant manager says I need to be more diligent. I told him that I make hourly rounds, verified by my swipe card, and since half the plant's outside lights are burned out visibility is poor.

Effin' idiot is more worried about the contractor's stuff whereas I'm more concerned about my safety. Glad I didn't turn a corner and run into them.

aren't the burnt out lights a work hazard? log them in where ever you happen to log that ****... maybe they'll get the point

It's in the log book as of tonight. Also, I sent the plant manager and cc'd to the Electrical Supervisor an email requesting priority-one response as it's a health and safety issue. I'll wait till I'm on late-shift again next week and if the lights are still out they're getting a work refusal if no-one else has done it yet.

My brother's boss, when he was an unarmed security guard, asked him what he'd do if a bunch of guys showed up with guns, and a wheelbarrow to rob the place. He said he'd politely ask them if they needed help pushing the wheelbarrow through the place. Most places value people over stuff.

What's a good PSA number?
