Kitchener/Waterloo area, c u next trackday riders thread!

Wow, nice deal!

Tim, I just want to remind you about spare parts / repair costs when looking for track bikes. As cool as the Triumph would be, you'd be sidelined for too long if (when) you bin it...

Too true...
Been looking at an SV1000 at the moment. Just had some pics sent to me actually.
I know it's a bit much for a newb track rider, but I figure it should be OK if I use any common sense at all.

Later!

I saw that one too, looks nice. For me it would just be a more powerful version of the flexy bike I already have LOL... Seriously though, I think that would be a fun track bike. Maybe not quite as easy to find parts as the 650 but still 3 days to get any parts through the dealer.

That's what I figured. He sent me pics of the bike, and it's in really nice shape. Bodywork is a nice metallic blue.
Figuring out some financial stuff and may go see in next weekend if anyone wants to tag along....

Saw it online.. not bad... digging the '03 SV1000 a little more though... and I think I can get it for less than the bike in the add you posted. it's not all rag-tag body parts either.... Should forward you the email with the photos...

Hey Tim, I may be able to tag along if you'd like a second set of eyes on it. I also have a nice ramp and lots of straps and a canyon dancer...

That would be fantastic Dave... I've got straps and a ramp, so that's not a big deal... Just have to take the cap off the back of my truck and away we go. I really appreciate the offer - especially considering you have experience with the SV's. The 1000's and 650's can't be all that different...

No problem. FYI, Saturday works best for me. Yeah, the 1000 and 650 are kind of the same beast. Both are very simple, and both are loosely based off the TL1000R.

Is any body here watching the weather and considering GBM this Friday ?

I won't be going to Grand Bend again until next season. My tires are just about shot and the relatively low traction of GB wouldn't be good for me. haha... My last track day will be Oct 8th at TMP, as long as the weather is decent.

I finally edited a video from Grand Bend and YouTubed it, Dean and Dave at GBM
Hey- nice video! Almost forgot about that one. I was almost getting up to your pace, until the bike started to sputter... ;) (Ok- I wasn't hitting 817 speeds.. But I was improving!) Yea- a GoPro is on my shopping list. Dude- I can't wait until the 8th!! Who else is in? Nick, Steve, Tim?

Well, I don't have a bike yet, so I can't say for sure... depends on what happens...
Would like to go though! I can loan you my GoPro sometime too Dean if you want it...

...maybe.. I work until 2:00am on friday, witch leaves me with no sleep for saturday.

I'll keep you updated

Goin' to look at an SV1000 on Saturday... wish me luck!
Sure, it's a little bigger motor than I wanted, but it's at a reasonable price...

Sweet! - Glad to hear this may be the one.... hope all goes well. (Unfortunately I'm tied up on saturday...)
Dude, I'm hoping that you'll have have the bike, and will be ready to rock on the 8th!! That would be cool.

Hey Dean, I got your bolts. Grand total, $0. They wanted to sell me a bag of 50 and I said I needed 4, so he found a bag in the back and opened it... haha
