Kitchener/Waterloo area, c u next trackday riders thread!

I just looked up some how-to's on USD fork disassembly. Yeah... not as simple as the cheap damper rod crap on my SV. We can still do it for sure, but you're right, we'll need some special tools.

here is what you need

I'm pretty sure i can macgyver them as well

Hey - I'm pretty sure dont need all those tools... you may just need someone to help (3rd hand).. I did my forks last year (first time doing them, never seen it done before, no special tools - just follow the manual) - piece of cake. I've got a Haynes manual if you need to borrow it (covers 750's & 1000's), and the suzuki service manual for the 600. The seals and oil can easily be done in a few hours.

Yea- the 30th at TMP won't work for me... who's running the track day..?
There must be some way that you can make the 7th...? I've got a thousand work excuses if you need one...:) Bad sushi is a great one...!

Right Lads, next on the agenda... let's see what works for everyone, and make it happen. (Nick - your attendance is manditory)

TMP -
Thurs. Sept. 22
Friday Oct. 7

GB -
Friday Sept. 30
Thurs. Oct. 6

Hey Dean, where did you get those dates? I can't find them on any sites. Who is hosting those days?

I just double checked TMP's site and they show Fri/Sat/Sun Oct 7-9 instead of the normal Sat/Sun/Mon that they do on long weekends. I wonder if they screwed up the date!? I hope we haven't hosed ourselves out of a track day.

The TMP dates came from they're site- as well as Racer5's (I believe they're hosting- and running a school). The GB dates I got from they're site too (just listed as motorcycle lapping) I'm pretty sure that we're good to go for the 7th.

Ok - so the racer5 trackday is on Thursday Oct. 6 at Grand Bend. The Friday, Oct. 7 trackday is hosted by SOAR, and is at Grand Bend as well. Hmmm.

I'll call TMP tomorrow to get their info - but they still have Friday the 7th listed on the site... so, that's what I'm hoping for. If it goes ahead, it should be pretty empty there - with everyone else in Grand Bend.

Frickin' awesome! So now I have to start working on my SV to find the post WOT surging problem...

maybe your injectors aren't synced properly?

i have a morgan carbtune that can sync them. (if that is the problem)

or just a plain old fuel filter might be the problem

I would like to borrow that over the winter to synch the TB's on both bikes if you don't mind :)

I don't think it's a lack of fuel, because I haven't noticed any other fueling weirdness, but who knows...

Still thinking about that stupid Triumph 955 I mentioned to Dave and Dean...
CURSES!!!!
Just have to save some more money... *sigh*

I saw a wicked cheap SV with tonnes of spares on CherryPicker the other day...

Hey - you might have to put yourself back out on the street.... a few nights down on Cedar St could do it. I can help if you need - my pimp hand is strong!

Seriously though - that 955 would be sick on the track. I'd like to have it if I didnt already have the 600.

Hey - just spoke with the TMP folks, and the Friday, Oct. 7 trackday is good to go!!!!

Hells yeah. I'm predicting a near empty track...

So - I was half right. The track will definately be empty... Here's the email I recieved from TMP (after they confirmed the 7th on the phone)_
"That was listed incorrectly. It should be Sat Oct 8, Sun Oct 9, and Mon
Oct 10th - Thanksgiving weekend. There is no motorcycle lapping on Fri Oct 7th."

Indeed.

Anyway - looks like it'll be a saturday trackday....

Nick - can you make Saturday the 8th?

Tim - bring babs ( I got used to passing a slow 1125 last week at shannonville - did you notice in Dave's pictures)

Steve - can you do the Saturday?

Also - can each of you please bring 2-3 hot pit girls. Thanks.

Would love to, but she's my street bike and I'd be terrified of wrecking her... that would probably make me the slowest of the slow... combined with my newb-ness, you might as well throw me on a big-wheel and have me pedal around the track!

So I guess I can un-book-off the Friday from work and save it for next year. Because it's Guys-With-Bikes that are running the day tech inspection will be thorough. Make sure you have things in good working order.

Anyone need a new back protector? Pannon has the Nexo ones on sale for $20 (reg. $90). One with shipping is $34ish after tax.
