Kitchener/Waterloo area, c u next trackday riders thread!

And prepping street bike for the track should take all of 10 mins ... I'm sure someone will offer to help ... Maybe jer can take u to collingwood and show u how to do it. Lmao I'm sorry jer I couldn't resist. ;)

lol... Collingwood wouldn't work on me... maybe Vegas ;)

I've got the bike stripped down to basically nothing ... Time to start building it back up. It didn't need it but it makes me feel better getting a little more personal with it. Took it for a little rip ... Feels good shifts smooth. June 1 will be a blast first time on an inline 4... just from the quick boot around it was ... Well .. Wierd lol little gutless wonder... Under 8k rpm then she takes off like no tomorrow.

Hey guys, I need new tires for the street. What should I get? I wanna do the track with the street bike 3 or 4 times this year. Can I use the street tires on the track or do I need to get a seperate set of tires for that? I can get some scrubs from a friend for the track but I'd rather not switch them if I can get away with it... just until I get a track bike :)

Speaking of tires.. Gonna need some as well for the track bike. Any suggestions ? Will scrubs b ok for my skill level or should I order new? I'm not ready for slicks ( don't have and don't wanna buy tire warmers)

I found the rad has the fan taken off but I have it.. Do I have to put it back on or will it b ok without ?

for both gs500f and GSXR-girl, everyone likes different tires, I'm a Pirelli and Dunlop fan, others like different brands. If your doing street and track, Dunlop Q2 or Pirelli Diablo Rosso Corsas would be my suggestion. Personally I would buy the Q2's (both price and performance is better in my opinion). I got about 5 track days and a reasonable amount of street miles on them, and this is on a 08 CBR 1k which eats tires. You can get them from pete's for a good price. http://www.petes-superbike.com/english/sportmax-q2.html

Depending on what ride your on, the 180's only come in a 55, but if your running 190 tires theres 50 or 55, I recommend the 55's. You can get Pirelli superbike pro slicks (just tried them for the first time last yer) from Orion motorsports. They are a bit more expensive, but cheaper than full race slicks. We paid $350 a set all in (shipped) at christmas, now I think they are closer to $400. To really use them though you need to be top yellow or in the red groups. They don't need warmers, although any tire benefits from warmers by saving heat cycles.

Nice part about the Q2's is a 5 track days and a couple thousand street miles the entire tire will be warn, not just the edge or centers, best bang for the buck IMO

I'm a Pirelli fan all in all... Metzeler's are good too (actually, Pirelli and Metzeler brands are manufactured in the same plant from what I've been told).

Aggressive of a rider are you on the street/track (take an honest guess)? Going all the way to the Diablo Rosso Corsas may be overkill, as they'll be done in 3-4000 km on the street... Dunlop Q2's are a little cheaper and may get a little extra distance out of them. I have never used the Rosso Corsa or the Q2, but am just saying what other people have commented on in other forums on the inter web.

Some people love Michelins... me... well... they're on my bike now, when the tires are done, I'm going to Metzeler or Pirellis again.

Dude, scrubs would be perfect for you... thats all I've been running. Just check the forum, or try cherrypickerracing forum. There's a guy in Brantford (Buzby120?) that I've bought stuff from before - and he has a basement full of tires. (I gotta get some more too)

Yea - the little 600's are pretty weak under 8g, I remember the first ride on mine... I thought wtf is this....? But you really wont ever be under 8g at the track.

Pete's has them here for less money, but adding shipping.

Hey GSXR Girl- just get a set of Pirelli Diablo Corso Rosso's from Petes superbikes. I'm running those on the speed triple and love them. Perfect street/track tire. The supercorsa's are awesome too...
