Kitchener/Waterloo area, c u next trackday riders thread!

Would love to go next Friday - especially 'cause it's long track at GBM - my fave configuration there... but the bosses have vetoed it. It's the last Friday before vacation begins, and somebody else in my department (3 people) has already been granted the day off, so I lose.

I could potentially make the TMP day on Saturday if anyone else is going. If Guys With Bikes is running it I'll consider it - otherwise... not so much.

As far as I know, I will be going at least for the Saturday. (TMP).

Who's running it if you know?
What group will you be running in (just curious)? Trailer arrangements etc?

No idea who's running it and don't care either, if the hay bails are in place and the track is clean, they black flag guys being idiots, and do a proper tech inspection. I will be running in beginner and hopefully I will be testing and tuning a new rear shock, and running tire warmers for the first time. I don't even have the lines down yet at TMP so I want to work on them a whole bunch if someone can tow me around who knows them. I rent a uhaul trailer and tow it with my car. My friend may come and do his first track day as well, I'm still working on convincing him.

Wow. A real bundle of stuff to chomp on all at once.
You should care who is running the day -- TMP has a reputation for "bargain basement" tech and marshals. Not something you really want.
GwB is solid - top notch tech.

I know pretty much zero, but how are you going to know what to change on your bike to improve performance / reduce tire wear when you're doing shock and warmers (assuming DOT race tires (Pirelli DRC, Dunlop 448, GPA) or Bridgestone R10 / Pirelli Superbike Pro slicks) at the same time?

As for being towed around TMP - best option would be to ask the people who are running the day (hopefully GwB) to have one of their instructors show you the ropes. They're great for that. Get them to put a big "X" on your back, showing you're a noob to the track and to let other riders know to leave you alone, as your lines won't be consistent etc. (no shame in that - just safety)

Don't know if I'm going yet, but if I am, will likely do yellow / red depending on the group behaviour.

I will be on Pirelli superbike pros, the warmers are easy to deal with I put them on, make sure I get a 5 psi rise and I end up at my optimal hot pressure before going out. Something like that anyway. Then the tires are close enough, the shock is new and valved and sprung for my weight and for track riding, even the settings come pre dialed in within range including pre load, then based on a big note I have for troubleshooting a vast array of handling issues, and personal feel, I will tune further to get it to the point where I'm not thinking about the bike anymore and I can focus on riding faster. I won't need an X, I've done TMP before, I just mean I don't have the fastest lines but guys can get around me just fine I hold my lines ok, for novice level I feel fine. I just wanted to see the lines again because I have a tendency to choose the shortest path around the track, not necessarily the fastest.

Got it back tonight. They did a good repair job for sure. Thank god the $3700 isn't on my tab.
Looked over my gas receipts for the Ram 1500... Just under $200 for 1000 km. *OUCH*
With the amount of city driving I do I couldn't afford one of those full time. Gas Guzzler Supreme.

200 for 1k km... Sign me up. I'm lucky to get 450 km/tank on premium in the murano. And that's (at current price) almost $110 per fill up. And yes premium is recommended....

I'm sure the CBR would have passed with flying colours :lmao:

TMP on July 11th and 12th is running those track days themselves. If ITS The older fella doing tech and running it then it's all gravy. Also when I asked about configuration they said "the whole thing"
