Kitchener/Waterloo area, c u next trackday riders thread!

I usually err on the side of caution at TMP, you get quite a few unpredictable riders with inconsistent lines. Nothing wrong with an entry/exit corner pass in yellow if its clean. Maybe not at the apex, but its not so much about where as it is about not surprising someone.

Red group was.. interesting. Not so much on lap times, they were a bit slower than usual red group, but line consistency was all over the map. CBR steering damper is still a little light, will do some debugging to make sure the damper is working the way it should (I think it is, we'll run some diagnostics). Had a front end slide deep in 10 and left some black marks across the track. Caught the bike with the knee and it regained traction after 2 feet or so. I find that corner always slippery.

GWB ran a good show, groups were busy and not many incidents for a packed day. At the end someone in green put it into the concrete wall after the haybales, he was down for a while in the last session. Hope he is ok.

I think I was making position on the inside between 8 / 9 before tip in. It's right at the marshall station, so I'm sure that if I was being a total ****** I would have been black flagged.

Was pretty scary seeing the guy who crashed at 12 be down for so long. He was down for a good half hour with the paramedics and ambulance - was still down when we left.
Somebody was running for his prescription heart medication a few seconds after he crashed. Mentioned to one instructor it was a lousy way to end the day - he asked what happened, so I told him. He asked if it was a blue SV650 - it was.. instructor called a crash from him earlier in the day, as he wasn't taking instructor's advice and doing his own thing. When he crashed, he missed the straw bales altogether and bounced off the wall - thankfully with an oblique angle.

going to hit up grand bend on the 18th.

anyone interested?

Tim and I are leaving to deals gap on the 19th, so won't be at that one

Anybody hit up TMP yesterday?
Sounds like there were all of 3 riders in the pits at 8am...

SOAR does not race at TMP, they only run at Grand Bend.

considering Friday, June.11th, SOAR practise day, long track @ GBM as the next one, anyone interested?

How about we do TMP same weekend, that way us newer guys can still ride in beginner, and don't have to deal with intermediate guys at GB trying to get past us all the time, and for those who want to stay for both Friday and Saturday there's that option.

Strongly prefer GBM over TMP, from both safety perspective and rider levels. You are correct, the SOAR practice days are not new rider friendly unfortunately.

Yup, what about the safety aspect though? The last turn before straightway? Any others?

not so much from a track perspective (although yeah, no concrete wall), but from a who runs the show and who shows up. Most SOAR riders are decent, will pass safely and marshalling is good. TMP its more weekend warriors, hero's, lax marshalling and some questionable passing/riding. Although a friday might bring out the more serious riders like the thursdays used to.

I was there not long ago, everything was pretty on key. Things may have changed since everyone got turned off TMP a while ago, not sure how to tell who's the organizer on the weekend were discussing maybe it varies from one to the other in terms of safety and organization. But guys were being pretty good during my novice sessions, riders meeting brought up a good point in that turn to take it easy, it was fully hay bailed, etc. if anything I found Rider's choice at Shannonville safety inspection to be very passive.

July 11th? Yeah, I think I might do that also because I didn't get to ride the Ninja at Calabogie.

some pent up excitement I see... hopefully have the hyperpro in by then, but it'll be close...

Yes, hopefully. You'll need it for the trailer straight. When my damper was leaking (not working much at all) I had a wicked tank slapper and nearly high sided.
