Kitchener/Waterloo area, c u next trackday riders thread!

Cool that you got a new vehicle for the tow...
Got yourself a trailer yet, or are you going to keep borrowing?
I'm almost thinking about doing the 4' x 4' harbour freight trailer and adding a rail... (trailer is on sale for $209 right now).
Sure, I've got my truck, but it makes taking anyone else along rather squishy with the gear -- non-extended cab....

So I'm going to need to book at least one Pro6 day before the end of this year so I can be sure that I keep my bike number (they require front and both sides to be numbered). I've kind of got a tradition of opening the season at Shannonville so I'll probably be booking Monday, May 07, 2012 Nelson. I might book Monday, June 18, 2012 Long Track and Monday, September 10, 2012 Long Track while I'm at it as signing up for all 3 SMP events is only $299 (save about $50).

Anyone want to go splits on one of those Harbour Freight trailers? We can choose to put down wooden flooring or rails whichever we choose.
Split gas costs to go get it to make it fair....

Princess auto had a snowbear on sale for 400 bucks it would be cheaper to buy it than to f around going to the states. You could also get one of these cheap.

Define cheap on these... it's pretty much exactly the same as the one at Harbour Freight with a little less payload capacity.

What size are the snowbear trailers at Princess?

Just got an email back from Racer5 after inquiring about their track days this summer....
Here's what I got back:

We do not have all our track days finalized yet, but we will be helping with the Thursdays before the SOAR weekends at Grand Bend.

Those dates are as follows:
May 24
June 14
July 27
Sept 27

Anyone interested in those days?

4x4 was the size of the PA one
the one in the link could also be had for around 400 bux. Personally I would spend 1200 and get a nice trailer from Royal already built with the rails. I have built the crappy kit ones before and by the time you are done making them any good (renforcing, welding etc.) you have way too much time and money into them and will regret not getting a good one at the start.

Interesting. So GB is strong but TMP not so much.

I tend to avoid days before race weekends just because they're usually crazy busy with people coming in and getting set up for the weekend, but I could likely be convinced. I will pre-book the 3 Pro6 days and then everything else I'll book throughout the summer.

Yea - I think I could be into that. The dates work, and the price is right.

May 7 sounds like it might be interesting, and the price most definitely is right ($99) - does Pro6 give rain refunds (it is spring after all) or would we be SOL?
Only thing I'm wondering about is how crowded it may be -- looks like they sign up 35 people per session. 35 people on such a small track would be really congested, wouldn't it? (especially in the green, where I will be relegated to).

Thinking June 14 might be good at GMP as well.

My plan for the summer is to hit 1 track a day month for sure, maybe a few more if my work will let me swing it.
Thinking about sticking in Green for the season, or do you guys think I'll be bored senseless by autumn?

No rain checks from Pro6. When SMP hosts the day they do offer rain checks, which is cool, but they're the only ones that do that, AFAIK.

It's only 25 on Nelson at a time (40 I think for Long track). Don't worry about safety at Pro6 days, if it were too many they wouldn't do it. The 35's are Calabogie days, but I'm pretty sure they put more than 35 on at a time there, that's just showing how many spaces are left.

As for staying in Green, it all depends on you really. You will likely get annoyed only being able to pass on the straights. You can usually change groups, if there's space, during the day if you feel and the organiser agrees that you're in the wrong group.

I briefly contemplated the "All 35 events" for $5999. Haha... Could you imagine?

Guys! Do you have a link to the course you were telling me about at Morty's? My goal next summer is at least to get the course done :)

Thx

Also got some HID questions on the DDM kit if one of you's has it installed let me know. I want to get mine on order and wait the 3 weeks :)

thx

Wanting to book a track day with you guys this year.

What is the first track day you guys are attending? need to try out the GSXR!

With the Pro6 Shannonville days we just booked, the first one is Monday May 7th. If we get lucky with weather maybe there will be a TMP or GBMP day before then.
