Amnesty is in place for 2 years, otherwise anyone owning the guns on that list would be in criminal violation today.

AG says the buy back program has to go through the Government(needs to have a budget set)

the OIC has the grandfathering clause in but that probably means changing your PAL/RPAL to include prohib status.

i think this will also have to go through the house, the liberal gov can't make these complete till they're debated on

nope...pull trigger one bang each time.
Then what would you call an assault rifle that is capable of *selective fire,
*which means a single fire rifle that can be (switched or altered) to fired in a burst or full auto mode  do you want to call it a machine gun?

we don’t have selective fire on firearms available to purchase for civilians in Canada. Thats the point.

So complain about the term assault "style" rifle being used to describe an assault rifle. Then you have a point that will stand up to political debate.

Nope, it's a cabinet order not legislation.
Conspiracy theory on his taxation power grab. He wanted to avoid taking guns, he would just charge you a yearly possession fee that was painful enough you didn't want them.

Hmm that is a lot of coin for some missplaced saftey, rather the money went into someting else like police forces to tame our wild roads, or dealing with gangs, or something other useful purpose. I just feel somebody is getting rich off these handouts and the money won't go where it should.

Make third-party liability, accident benefits and uninsured gun coverage mandatory, then guns will go the way of full fairing sportbikes.

I would much rather the money went to address the real problems (cross border guns and gangs).

I have no problem if JT mandated a proper rated safe/vault for firearm storage for the law abiding folk. The current storage laws really are crap and it is easy to steal guns and ammo.

Reasonable ideas with positive outcomes are not JT's thing. He would rather smile for camera. grab headlines, waste money and ignore the results (or lack thereof).

Kim Mitchel for PM ?

made me listen to Canada's best ProgRock band
Kim was a unlikely front man in that he was hideous and can't really sing
good writer though and got really good tone from his Strat

unfortunate that band died as Kim had to get on with his patio lanterns
I guess he was just doing his rock and roll duty in producing a bunch of sh1t music

he is at least as qualified as JT for the PM role
Mitchell and Cherry on the same ticket would be unbeatable
prolly the best way to keep Alberta in the Federation

i'm not really big on rifles and pistils, but i really don't think banning any sort of weapon that can be used will keep them out of idiots hands
