My BIL is the only family member that doesn't wear a helmet while skiing. He went down Saturday and broke his glasses and got a goose egg on his forehead. Not sure if he is planning on buying a helmet to help protect the new glasses he needs to buy now.

Everyone is equal, everyone gets a trophy is the root of a lot that is going wrong with society currently. There are winners and losers. Deal with it. If you slack off, there is a very good chance you end up in the loser pile.

helmets are always a good idea but agree on the participation trophies and these sports where they don't keep score.

One of my younger cousins fell while skiing in Europe, hit his head, and cracked his helmet in half. Took him a few days to get the fog out of his head...

I'll never ski/snowboard without a helmet. Way too dangerous.

Probably 1/20 don't wear helmets now. When I started probably 1/100 wore helmets. Partly because the only helmets available were for "racers" and friggin expensive ($300+). Now they have some available for more reasonable recreational prices.

How's Michael Shumacher doing? He was wearing a helmet but the rock must have been harder. Still not right IIRC.

I wear a bump helmet if there's a chance of a knock on the head.
