Itchy Boots bike got stolen

All the episodes she edits herself as she travels and does the content.

She said in the past on a live session she did that she has an editor. Did she get rid of the editor?

she makes lots enough per month to support hotels. $20k US per month.

Did she say that? That number seems absurdly low.

My motorcycle channel made $5,800 USD from 1.2 million views, so call it $4,833/million views.

She got 13.2+ million views in the past 30 days. Assuming her YouTube channel gets paid at least the same ad rate as mine, she's making at least $63,000+ USD/month only from YouTube.

In reality considering her channel has a million subscribers and mine only has 22k, she probably gets a much higher ad rate than I do. She also has her paid community, a couple courses, and now a book. I'd be very surprised if she was making anything less than $80K USD/month, but $63k+ is pretty much a guarantee.

You and me both! WTF here I am working like a sucker for way less than 63k/month.

Definitely in the wrong business. Let's also not forget that she started off somewhere, so she HAD to have some type of money behind her to allow it.

@Lightcycle and his wife literally sold everything and went travelling...how Itchy Boots got her first infusion I have no clue...but one doesn't travel the world on a motorcycle with zero funds in their bank account...regardless of what the youtube story is...

Just like the 'self made man' is very very rarely self made...there's always something they omit to make it seem like a bigger struggle.

'Rich girl travels world on daddy's dime' doesn't sound the same as 'I worked 365/days/year for X years to fund this trip'.

Just in case...I have no clue how she funds the trips before the YouTube funds started to come in.

she apparently became rich working in Australia in her chosen field working with rocks :D how rich, I have no idea but obviously enough to start this whole new empire...

exactly, she's actually well educated and smart person who had a job to save up money before start her adventures. I think she worked on many continents like Central and South America as well...
Likely for our entertainment not every person wants a boring "normal" private life with house in burbs and kids :)

Geochemistry sounds like a very specialized field... 'Probably pretty lucrative too.
My guess is yeah... She worked in her field of expertise, saved her money then left to pursue her moto touring thing.

I'd pick a different handle though. "Itchy boots" sound kinda gross... Like maybe something fungal is going on,,,

We spoke here and there on WhatsApp right when she was posting her first video or two. That must be like 2017-2018. Back then she told me she sold her house after a breakup and left for her first trip, to India I believe. The channel took off and allowed her to turn that first trip into the first leg of a round-the-world trip.

Some people manage to make YouTube into a regular paycheque. Some do so better than others, ie some are making a few hundred bucks a month, others, well, if you manage to reach critical mass, well, you can make a lot more.

But for millions of others trying to do the same thing but never reaching that critical mass for whatever reason, they never make a dime, or maybe a few bucks here and there. You really have to strike fire. I have a few videos on YouTube with over 100,000 views and even that has made me diddly squat because they're not the sort of videos that attract subs which is what you need.

Anyhow, It's not only the topic of the video and how that appeals, it's the whole product in the end. A lot of wannabe "Youtubers" just take a bunch of potato-quality raw footage filmed without any real effort, throw some titles over it with Windows Movie Maker, and throw it up on YouTube thinking their personalities alone will make them millions. They find out that you do often have to put out something of a polished product to attract the masses, and more importantly, get them to subscribe and keep watching.

Anyhow, it's a great gig if you can make it work, absolutely. I follow Camping With Steve as well as In Too Deep (just 2 examples that I really enjoy) and I genuinely hope those guys are making enough money from YouTube to keep doing what makes their content what I enjoy watching.

Likely for our entertainment not every person wants a boring "normal" private life with house in burbs and kids :)

And honestly, if you're having kids you're probably not wanting any of this attention.

About a year ago I had some random from India threaten to kill me because I dared point out some instances of Royal Enfield's finish being subpar. I told the missus "Don't worry, it's not like he's ever going to come here and find out where we live."

Right so anyway, 11 months later / last month, someone literally pulled up in front of my house as I'm getting off the Harley in my driveway and I hear "Hi! Are you Adrian?" and this woman said she watches my videos and recognizes me from YouTube  Apparently it's a small world and she lives a few blocks away. Allegedly.

I went inside and got the "Who was that?" from the missus. Bad enough explaining to your live-in woman that women from the internet are showing up at your house, imagine if this was also the mother of your children you had to explain that to? Now imagine if it was the mother of your children you had to explain that to AFTER getting death threats the year before?

I blame the upset Indian for all of this.

And you didn't try to get her on the rebound..??

Son, I am disappoint.

Good sir, just because you buy the ticket, doesn't mean you get to take the ride.

I always find that like sports, I’d rather be doing than watching. Trying to watch that would have me climbing the walls. I can’t even watch much of Les Stroud, and that’s doing things that I’ll never ever do.

Trying running some very large Facebook groups. I've received a few anonymous letters in the mail from idiots who won't put their name on their words and want to hide behind anonymity, plenty of angry and threatening PM's over the years from those who aren't so worried, and there's a few people in the neighbourhood (one of those groups is a neighbourhood thing) who will only scowl at me if they see me anywhere because they got themselves banned (usually not even by me, but one of the other admins lol) for being unable to act like an adult.

It's a good thing I'm GenX and really only have 1 feeling that's made out of carbon steel.

'How about building a channel based on slamming another guys channel..? Lol.

Has anyone heard of "Delboy's Garage"... Youtuber out of the UK. 'Does basic maintenance and repair tutorials...
There's this other guy... I think his channel is called "Dirty Garage" who just takes apart EVERYTHING ol' Delboy does.
IIRC Delboy actually sic'd the cops on Dirty Garage guy claiming harassment... LOL

Dirty Garage guy has a technical background. Delboy is a bus driver... So yeah, he gives a lot of bad advice.

In this thread we learn who tops up their Presto card and doesn't take the GO train.

I'm told the other 99.9% of women on the planet find me irrisistable.

Ohai, we're in this thread!

No secret to how we were able to travel on motorcycles for so long:

#1. Don't have kids.
#2. Lotto416
#3. Don't have kids.
#4. Don't be stupid with money (ie. stonks)
#5. Don't have kids.
#7. Be good with numbers...

With respect Adri...you don't do what Noraly does. You are not editing in a Peruvian jungle far from even power at times. Take the stolen bike...she's not lugging a teleprompter narrating... she's talking to the phone and recording as she looks for the bike. That's not scripted,

For you ..Influencer ???...yep big time and good on you making a living at it but it's not directly comparable to someone travelling solo in remote places without a support crew and editing in the hotel rooms alone. That she has built such a large and loyal following is a tribute to hard work and personality and the appeal of going those places we would either love to go or never go...both are fascinating...her information aspect is just one added facet.
🥳 These are milestones that I celebrate because they mean so much blood, sweat, tears and hard work. After 5 years on YouTube, I still edit my all my videos myself, and going back to Season 1, episode 1… I think after 600 episodes, I’ve gotten better both at filmmaking and editing 😂 You know they say that practicing something for 10,000 hours makes you an expert? I am still far away from 10,000 hours and I hope to continue to grow as a filmmaker and get tonnes better at editing too. On to the next 600 episodes!! 🤪😆

This thread is showing that some of us love her so much she can do no wrong.

And those that have rightly been skeptical.

Honestly none of us know 100% because none of us know her personally, and @adri seems to be the only one to actually have talked to her.

Regardless it doesn’t matter. She’s entertainer and she entertains lots of people…whether she has support or not…it doesn’t matter.

Enjoy, watch, and daydream about whispering sweet nothings into her ear. Or her into your ear with that sexy accent.
