Inflation

The thing is that it scales. They can push for cheaper prices. It's the same reason that we have universal healthcare. It's also a two edged sword, as they also have more leeway to raise prices themselves.

I dig your optimism. I think the rates will flatten out for 3-5 months then slowly inch up . We’ve had things pretty sweet for a long time .

The amount of tax we pay should keep things very sweet

I expect a short pause then a rise. Then a decrease as the economy is in the toilet. I am also stupid and considered purchasing a commercial building to rent out when I think we are heading for a recession.

If I could buy another residential or commercial building…I would do it tomorrow.

Do it.
I got a smoking deal on the warehouse in Elmira! There are still a few deals out there and I think within this year a few more will pop up.
But ya, the warehouse will be my retirement fund.

Walmart closing 269 stores across US. I'm sure we might see a few close up here as well.
For the reason(s) why, opinions differ, but crime seems to be the mostly likely.

We switched from being No Frills loyal (We were once PC Points millionaires lol) to Food Basics.

Better prices, and not Loblaws. We only go to No Frills anymore for a small handful of PC Products we still really enjoy, but that's it.

If you're not happy with the Westons, speak with your wallet.
Same here. Easy to look at that list and choose one not on it.
Go to Rexall or other smaller pharmacies instead of Shoppers.

IWalmart made record profits during covid, im going to guess a lot of the closures are crime related. Some states dont even bother charging people for theft under $1000 anymore, so there is nothing stopping people just walking into a store and walking out with whatever they want. There is going to be a lot more areas with food deserts.

There already are quite a few. Downtown Barrie has no grocery store. It seems crazy that the highest density area requires everyone to take public transit out to big box land to buy food.

The problem is complex. Where's the public transit?

Zoning means no corner store. A person wanting to own a business must rent at a mall and never have the financial control over their property cost. A cut of sales goes to the landlord.

The effect of theft on pollution, a SD card in a package the size of a poster.
