I Saw You: V.2.0

Re: ATTN:Red and White Gixxer 600 on Balmuto

Many (most) bikes with fuel injection will not start via a push start if the battery is dead. Possibly if it is just run down a bit. Many cars also. The ECU, fuel pump, fuel injection system, ignition system (for da sparkplugs...) require at least +5 vdc to run, in very basic terms. Boosting a bike with a a dead battery can damage the electrical/electronics also.

Today's bike are not your dad's old bikes of years gone by.

How boosting a bike is different from boosting a car??

That looks pretty clean! I love these bikes, but I had to get rid of mine because it was such a massive PITA to work on. :p

What was so difficult about yours? How much did you sell yours for?

It was a few years ago ... it was in the ballpark of $2000, I think. Look up what it takes to do a valve adjustment, it's not easy compared to a normal I-4.

New triumphs push start. Discovering that battery was sealed, however, was annoying. ~$150 for a new battery instead of a couple of ounces of electrolyte.

There may be a separate connector on the battery for the electronics as well, which you can disconnect if you plan to boost it. Figure this out before the battery dies though.

Blue SV650 with fairings on the Gardner east just before Lakeshore, you were riding with your lady and I was riding like a goon in the slow lane fully tucked (...my old man back is sore) on a junkyard special silver SV650. Nice bike :)

you: cruiser dude, on webb street (burlington), seen you around
me: the guy with the red ninja 250, you've seen me around couple of times i think

@ the Us to Canada border
You on an SV650 with a rather husky passenger, perhaps a buddy who left his bike in the Canadian side
Good luck with the license plate...it was tucked practically where your rear shocks were, right behind the tire lolz

Tonnes of bikes. I was sitting at the corner of 48 and Elgin Mills between 3 and 6 today. Orange F4i.

4 squids on my street, Mineola Gardens, Mississauga. ran two stop signs, wide open thru the gears.

I'll be suprised if you make it thru the season.

Morons.

Blonde girl, long straight hair, blue Yami 600 (I think) by telegram news (spadina, front)

how you doing!

Blue SV on the 401 ramp exiting to Leslie north. Helmet off on the phone. I hope you and your bike are ok.

shouldn't you have stopped and ask if he was ok?

There is this courtesy rule amongst bikers...

I should but was on my car and wife is late for work. Also it will not be safe for me to stop at the off ramp.

LateNight Twin Rivers Run
Saw 4-5 riders chillin at turn 4 Eastbound. My and my bud were doing some filmage and was hoping to get some footage of us all doing a run but when we circled back, you guys left...
Saw a huge puddle of liquid...I hope it was just body fluids!

My '09 Sprint definitely does not push-start.

Which triumphs are you referring to?
My '10 street triple does not push start. I've tried it waaay back when I killed my battery. two huge guys helped me push my bike. We could hear it engage but not turn over.
As far as I understand it, any fuel injected system doesn't push start.
