I never liked marine land

Nope...Since the stories have run, there's been no change in traffic. Let's not forget Niagara Falls is a major global tourist destination that attracts 12 million people a year, who don't read the Toronto Star.

I actually saw it on CTV news not in the Star.... there are many media forums that have picked up this story, I'm sure one's across the border as well. Don't you know that there are but a few media moguls that predominantly control television, print and radio propagandization? It doesn't take a lot for a story from "one media outlet" to be picked up by the other's.

The story was to pander to the bleeding heart Toronto libbys who would never go there anyway, not the 250,000 tourists walking around The Falls at this very moment. It will have zero impact on business.

God this isn't new.....

Lets see here....... Large sea living creatures taken out of their natural habitat which is massive, and put in "tanks".

AND OMG WTF!!!!!! there in distress...... no SHI!T

Best I heard was we need to boycott them, just don't go there!
REALLY?????

How much money do you think they take in from locals compared to tourists?
We take up what, maybe 20%? Even if we say 30%, its still not going to hurt them at all.

It is what it is, don't like what they have going on there, STFU, and stay away.
Personally I don't care, again, even if we all hate them, there still going to be doing it. And don't give me that BS about well your supporting them......... I hate the government far more, and give them much more money in a week then I do to Marineland in a whole year.

My kid loves it there. He goes to the arcade, plays some games for a bit, goes on some rides, sometimes wants to feed the balooga whales (sp)?, and maybe catch a show.
Were out of there within 2-3 hours.
We live less then 45 minutes away, so its perfect. I mean for $50 a year, I think its well worth it, and its enjoyable for my son.

If we want to look at salt water animals anywhere else, we'd have to drive 16+ hours, or fly, and then pay someone to take us out on a boat in hopes we can see them.....
Yeah.... like thats gonna happen.

So....all in all, yeah, they might be doing some things to animals, that probably isn't the best for the animals.
Then again, if they were in the ocean still, they would have a chance to end up in our cans of tuna.
So at least this way, we actually get to see them, instead of taste them.

lol

Plenty of tourists pay attention to the way some businesses treat animals. I don't go to any places where swim with dolphin crap goes on and I'm not alone. Maybe it doesn't make a difference on a small scale but if a reputation begins to get tarnished and politicians listen then things start to change slowly as a groundswell of opinion starts to take hold.

As for the inconvenience of seeing the animals in the wild....I suggest you make the effort as in my opinion the difference is night and day and teaches kids about the value of protecting what animal life and resources we have.

Why don't you two pick up a sign and join the movement on Saturday? Then you can tell your kids about how radical you were in your youth.

To each his own.

I'll be teaching my kids to respect nature and wildlife. There's no good reason for them to ever see a whale in a fishbowl.

But hey, some parents just don't have a clue I guess.

Yep go take a vacation to van island if you really want to experience the real thing. Dropping huge coin to watch them swim in an oversized bath tub is not worth it.

went to a zoo/circus once when i was a kid of maybe 10 or 12. after seeing the animals faces i could tell they were tormented and tortured for our amusement. asked my father why the animals were so sad. he didnt have an answer for me. well, i vowed from that day to never support animal abuse. never again have i been to any of these things and never will. all the zoo, circus, marineland, farms and **** like that are all the same thing. they all torture and abuse animals for our amusement. we may not see it all the time but how do u think a person will feel if they were caged up and were forced to do things that someone else thinks is "cool" and keep repeating them day by day, everyday. we as human beings have been so desensitized that torturing animals for our entertainment and taste is seen as just normal things we are supposed to do to live..

sorry for the rant

Here's some protest music for Saturday

I don't see why I got looped into the protest movement just for saying that I didn't see it in the Star, and anyways you call that radical? hahahaha.

Way to justify yourself selfishness.

I sure hope you're a 100% vegan.

There is no such thing as bad publicity.

Marineland will march on.

Just like all the once a month suicide, abused, underpaid, underage children who make your silly iToys.

Wheres the continual public outcry for that?

It came, it went...... and people are still gobbling up iThings like theyre going out of style.

jus sayin.

I sure hope you're a 100% vegan.

Are you purposely being obtuse?

Animal cruelty for human entertainment has absolutely nothing to do with animals (us) eating other animals for self-preservation.

If you cant discern between the two... wow.
