Probably a combo of that and trolling. Although there is a shipment coming to Canada, but they are all spoken for. HP people on twitter and email from HP web store confirms that. Here's a piece of the email:
All stock that HP has is already spoken for. So any shipments coming in are either getting shipped directly to customers or stores that already had a claim to that stock before the sale.
With that said, watch for units coming back to BB and FS and showing up on Open Box tables
All you people are getting bamboozled by big companies and buying castrated laptops. 
It first started with "netbooks." What the hell is a netbook exactly? Look at a laptop 10 years ago - that's what it is.
Now, all these "pads." The smaller ones are just like big cellphones and the big ones are like small laptops.

Call them what you want, but for some people like me I don't need a whole laptop sitting on my couch full time so that I can check the forums or my email. I have a couch and my wife would keep her laptop on the middle seat and I would keep my iPad. It drove me nuts that mine could take up less than half the space and all she used her laptop for was to check email and facebook. We eventually bought her an iPad a few months ago and she LOVES it.
I have a laptop on my desk that I use to game with and as the family computer.

Same thinking here, but some people don't get it!!!!
And the fact that it is instant on.
the thing is, i prefer grabbing my Macbook Air(because i could never get one of the iPad's), which i would never shutdown, only close the lid and is instant on too, and is lightweight as an iPad.
although the kids have their own 17 inch laptop(as a desktop), it usually is dusty.
And all those education apps i installed.... for sure the iPad or any other tablet is a winner in my books, cause the kids interact more with it.
And it keeps them quiet in the car/house.
And what's more important when raising kids than keeping them quiet? Certainly not interacting with them or letting them ponder their own thoughts or letting them come up with their own distractions.

let me slow you down, don't judge because you might have read wrong or i explained wrong, but try having 5 kids and not wanting that little break you can get.
Like right now as I'm typing this, its 10pm and i just told them to go upstairs with that sound its making.... and for me its quiet time to chillax.
My kids are not the type that video game all day too, my kid comes to my bedside and asks every single day, is it time to go outside now, first thing.
And concerning the interaction, my kids are not allowed outside unless me or my wife is outside too, not like the other parents(which i don't see outside at all).
And they have every game console, that they hardly use.
Our car rides are usually long, and does the phrase "are we there yet " sound familiar!!!!!!
When i got the MDX, i made sure about getting the RES(rear entertainment system), quiet is a good thing to me.
I am not one to talk to people/wife/kids/etc..while driving, as i take driving serious(professional driver), no distractions here.

yes...... believe this though, we never burden family to watch our kids(no one), so we always have them, so you need that help somewhere, and that keeps them occupied when you need a small break.so you're saying steve jobs sold you your baby sitter?
What sound are you talking about? Kids are easy, you tell them to go upstairs and they do it. Unless of course you've been to liberal with them, lol.
You don't let them play outside by themselves??? Because you think the last 100,000 years worth of parents were irresponsible. Check the stats, VERY large chance that they will not die when left alone. Are you raising your kids to stay kids, or to grow up and learn? You wont' ALWAYS be there to protect them.
To each their own on this one, but when you teach your children to behave, you don't need to have a TV put them in a trance.
Great that your there with your kids, but I believe based on your post, that you and your wife are doing a great disservice to them.
Why dont you STFU and let someone raise their kids the way they want to. Lets read your resume on parental skills and accomplishments before you start handing out unsolicited and unwarranted parental advice. LOL the nerve on some people.

Listen Supernanny, advice is given when it's asked for. Just spewing some idiotic condescending rubbish about how to raise someone else's kids (in a thread about tablets no less) is the height of arrogance and douchebaggery.

Samsung reportedly recruits ex-HP VP for PC business; considers buying webOS
Samsung Electronics, despite refuting reports it plans to take over Hewlett-Packard's (HP's) PC business, reportedly has already recruited HP's ex-vice president of PSG marketing Raymond Wah to handle Samsung's PC sales, and the company is also reportedly considering purchasing webOS to compete head on against Apple and Google, according to sources from notebook players.
Both HP and Samsung have declined to comment about the purchase of webOS.
The sources noted that the acquisition of HP's PC business, which has a rather low gross margin, may turn out to hurt Samsung's panel and DRAM businesses that have rather high gross margins, therefor HP's webOS may be the target that Samsung has the most interest in.
In addition, Google's acquisition of Motorola, which may seriously threaten hardware brand vendors, could also trigger Samsung to purchase webOS as a counter measure, the sources added.
